The Faxon Duty Series 16" 8.6 Blackout (8.6 BLK) AR-10 barrel is engineered for shooters who want a durable, high-value barrel built around real-world use. With a fast 1:3 twist, carbine-length gas, and a Big Gunner contour, this is a strong choice for hard-use builds, high round counts, and suppressed setups where robust materials and protective finishes matter.
Duty Series barrels are made from 4150 CMV (Chrome Moly Vanadium), a tough, proven barrel steel well-suited for heat and wear in high-volume firing. The bore is button rifled, then treated with salt bath nitride (QPQ) inside and out to improve corrosion resistance, reduce fouling, and support long service life. A black oxide-coated DPMS Gen 1 .308 extension provides a solid, dependable interface, and every barrel is MPI inspected.

8.6 Barrel
Great barrel. Small issue with a couple burrs that needed to be cleamed up on the locking lugs that were cauding chambering problems. Once that eas corrected it has been fantastic. Otherewise i would have rated 5 stars.
