Duty Series vs. Match Series

The difference between these two series starts with the steel — not just the finish. Both are machined in-house at Faxon's Cincinnati facility and backed by the Lifetime Guarantee.

4150 CMV carbon steel

Nitride

Match Series

From $119

Machined from 416-R stainless steel — a premium stainless alloy with enhanced corrosion resistance and a superior starting surface for PVD finishes. Adds fluting profiles (Flame Fluted®, Spiral Fluted, standard fluted) and premium finish options.

Material

416-R stainless steel

Finishes

TiN PVD · Nickel PVD · Chameleon PVD · Standard Nitride

Configuration Guide

Threaded vs. Standard

Standard (Non-Threaded)

Target crowned muzzle. Fits inside the slide with the standard Glock profile. The right choice for carry and range use when suppressor or compensator attachment is not a priority.

Threaded

1/2x28 thread pitch, compatible with most suppressors, muzzle devices, and the Faxon EXOS® compensator line. Threaded barrels protrude past the slide — this is normal. Requires NFA compliance for suppressor use.

Common Questions

Glock® Pistol Barrel FAQ

Will a Faxon barrel fit my Glock?

Faxon Glock barrels are model and generation specific — always select the barrel that matches your exact model and generation. Available fits: G19 Gen 2–5, G17 Gen 2–4 and Gen 5, G34 Gen 2–4 and Gen 5, G43/43X, and G48. If unsure of your generation, check the bottom of your frame or the ejector number.

Do Faxon Glock barrels require a gunsmith to install?

No. Faxon Glock barrels are drop-in replacements. Field strip your Glock, remove the factory barrel, drop in the Faxon barrel, reassemble, and perform a function check. No fitting or gunsmithing required.

What's the difference between Duty Series and Match Series?

The difference starts with the steel. Duty Series barrels are machined from 4150 CMV carbon steel — the same mil-spec alloy used in duty-grade rifle barrels — with a nitride finish, available threaded or standard. From $96. Match Series barrels are machined from 416-R stainless steel, which offers enhanced corrosion resistance and a superior surface for premium PVD finishes. Match Series also adds fluting options (Flame Fluted®, Spiral Fluted, standard fluted) and finish choices including TiN, Nickel, and Chameleon PVD. From $119. Both series are backed by the Lifetime Guarantee.

Are Faxon threaded Glock barrels suppressor compatible?

Yes. Faxon threaded Glock barrels use standard 1/2x28 threading, compatible with most major suppressor brands and suppressor adapters. Threaded barrels protrude past the slide — this is normal. Suppressor ownership requires NFA registration including a tax stamp. Always verify current federal, state, and local regulations before purchasing. Browse Faxon's suppressor lineup or suppressor mounts.

What is Flame Fluting® and is it functional or cosmetic?

Flame Fluting® is Faxon's patented barrel fluting pattern — a distinctive flame-shaped cut that removes material and adds visual character. On a pistol barrel the primary benefit is aesthetic. It does not affect function or accuracy. Available on select Match Series G19, G17, and G34 models.

Can I use a Faxon barrel to convert my G22 to 9mm?

Yes. Faxon offers a Duty Series 9mm conversion barrel for the Glock G22 Gen 2–4, allowing you to shoot 9mm from a .40 S&W frame. You will need 9mm-compatible magazines in addition to the conversion barrel. The conversion barrel is threaded.

What warranty covers Faxon Glock barrels?

All Faxon Glock barrels are covered by the Faxon Lifetime Guarantee. If the barrel fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship, Faxon will repair or replace it. No asterisks.
