FAXON DUTY SERIES THREADED 9MM CONVERSION BARREL FOR G22 GEN 2-4
FaxonDescription
Pistol Barrels › For Glock® › For Glock® | Works with: EXOS-513 for Gen 3 • EXOS-543 for Gen 4
Fit and Compatibility
This barrel is a direct replacement for the factory barrel in Glock® 22 Gen 2, Gen 3, and Gen 4 slides, converting the pistol to 9mm. It is machined to tight tolerances for consistent lockup, and it drops into factory-spec slides with no gunsmithing. On some aftermarket slides, minor fitting may be needed.
Conversion note: run 9mm magazines and a 9mm recoil assembly (guide rod and spring) with this conversion barrel. Neither is included.
Shipping: threaded barrels cannot be shipped to California.
How It’s Made
Every Faxon pistol barrel starts as a long 4150 CMV barrel blank that Faxon rifles in-house before it is ever cut into pistol barrels. That way the whole blank gets the same rifling, inspection, and stress relief, and every barrel cut from it starts from a qualified bore.
- Drill and ream: 4150 CMV bar gun-drilled and reamed as a long blank
- Button rifle: Button rifled 1:10, six grooves
- Air gauge: Bore and rifling air gauged
- Stress relieve: Stress relieved in-house after rifling, just like Faxon rifle barrels
- Cut and qualify: Blank cut to length and qualify-turned true to the bore
- Turn and mill: Hood, lugs, and profile turned and milled; 9mm SAAMI chamber and target crown cut; muzzle threaded 1/2x28
- Finish: Salt-bath QPQ nitrided inside and out
- Mark and inspect: Laser-marked and final inspected
Six-groove button rifling is land-and-groove rifling, not polygonal, so it runs jacketed and cast lead bullets. Salt-bath QPQ nitride is a diffusion treatment, not a plating: it hardens the bore and exterior and adds corrosion resistance and lubricity while adding virtually nothing to the dimensions.
How We Inspect It
Faxon pistol barrels are built to a written control plan, and each run is logged on inspection sheets. Here is what this barrel goes through before it ships.
| Burr check | Every barrel inspected for burrs under 10x magnification |
| Hood fit | Every hood run through a go/thru gauge |
| CMM | First and last barrel of every run checked on the CMM |
| First article | Full CMM first-article inspection after any machine maintenance, tool change, or part change, and at least every 30 days |
| Certifications | Material certs checked at receiving; stress relief certified by lot |

Duty Series G22 9mm Conversion Barrel FAQs
Is this barrel drop-in?
Yes. It is a direct replacement for the factory barrel in Glock® 22 Gen 2, Gen 3, and Gen 4 slides, converting the pistol to 9mm with no gunsmithing on factory-spec slides. Some aftermarket slides may need minor fitting.
How is it rifled?
Button rifled, 1:10 twist, with six grooves. Faxon rifles a long blank in-house, air gauges the bore and rifling, and stress relieves it before cutting it into pistol barrels.
Can I shoot cast lead bullets?
Yes. Six-groove button rifling is land-and-groove rifling, not polygonal, so it runs both jacketed and cast lead bullets.
What is the difference between Duty Series and Match Series pistol barrels?
Duty Series barrels are 4150 CMV in an OEM-style profile with salt-bath nitride inside and out. Match Series barrels are 416-R stainless, heat treated for pistol-barrel hardness, and come in fluted profiles and PVD color options.
What finish is it?
Salt-bath QPQ nitride, inside and out.
Can I run a suppressor or compensator?
Yes. The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28, the common 9mm thread, and a thread protector is included. You will likely need suppressor-height sights to see over a suppressor.
Can it ship to California?
No. Threaded barrels cannot be shipped to California.
Does it convert my G22 to 9mm?
Yes, with 9mm magazines and a 9mm recoil assembly (guide rod and spring), which are not included.
Where is it made?
In Greater Cincinnati, Ohio. Pistol barrels ship without an FFL.
