The Faxon 9310 .308 / 6.5 Creedmoor / 8.6 BLK Bolt + Firing Pin (.125) – Nitride is a premium AR10/DPMS-pattern replacement bolt engineered for reliability, durability, and consistent extraction. Seeing “MIL-SPEC” as just the starting point, Faxon pairs proven materials and inspection with a hard-wearing finish to deliver a bolt assembly ready for serious use.
Machined from 9310 tool steel, each bolt is fully heat treated, shot peened, and Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) to help ensure the material is sound and free from defects. The bolt receives a salt bath nitride treatment to increase surface hardness, decrease resistance, and provide superior corrosion resistance compared to chrome or phosphate finishes. Bolt lugs are chamfered to promote reliable cycling—even with higher-pressure loads and fast actions.
The extractor is manufactured from S7 tool steel, fully heat treated, and shot peened. The spring setup uses .308-spec springs and a dual O-ring arrangement to support consistent extraction. This bolt is DPMS Gen 1 compatible and ships with a firing pin included.

.308 Bolt
The bolt is top quality. I bought a barrel with the head spaced bolt. The only thing that I noticed is that the firing pin hole is slightly larger than my Aero Precision bolt that it replaced. The larger orifice caused some primer cratering, but that’s really not a problem.
