Shipping & returns — Trusted Distribution Partner items
When will my order ship?

Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.

Will tracking come from Faxon?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.

Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.

How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”

Is this product authentic and covered by warranty?

Yes. All Trusted Distribution Partner products are sourced from authorized distributors and are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Faxon stands behind every product sold on faxonfirearms.com.

EOTech EXPS3-DCR XPS3-DCR Holographic Sight Danger Close Reticle, black, closed emitter, 7mm raised QD base, night vision compatible, made in USA EOTech — Holographic Sight

EOTECH EXPS3-DCR HOLOGRAPHIC SIGHT — DANGER CLOSE RETICLE — XPS3-DCR

Made in USA Danger Close Reticle NV Compatible Gen I–III+ 30 Brightness Settings 7mm Raised QD Base Closed Emitter

EOTech’s EXPS3-DCR puts the proven EXPS holographic platform behind a purpose-built reticle designed for close-quarters engagements where height-over-bore matters. The Danger Close Reticle combines a modified 68 MOA speed ring with a center chevron to give the shooter three discrete aiming points — 7 yards, 50 yards, and 200 yards — on a .223/5.56 rifle zeroed at 50 yards. No guesswork on CQB shots. No holdover math at distance. Just the right dot for the range.

The Danger Close Reticle Explained

Most holographic sights require the shooter to mentally compensate for height-over-bore on close-range shots — the physical offset between the bore of the rifle and the line of sight through the optic. At 7 yards, that offset can mean a shot several inches from where the reticle sits. The DCR solves this by building the correction into the reticle itself.

A 68 MOA outer ring provides a wide field-of-view for fast target acquisition. The center chevron provides the 50-yard zero point. A dedicated 7-yard aiming point accounts for the height-over-bore offset at close range, and the reticle geometry also provides a hold for 200-yard shots. With a 50-yard zero on a .223/5.56 rifle, all three aiming solutions are built in — no additional calculation required at any of those distances.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Danger Close Reticle and how is it different from the standard EXPS3?

The standard EXPS3 uses EOTech’s classic 68 MOA ring with a 1 MOA center dot. The DCR replaces the center dot with a chevron and adds a dedicated 7-yard aiming point to address height-over-bore at very close ranges. On a .223/5.56 rifle with a 50-yard zero, the bore of the rifle sits roughly 2.5 inches below the line of sight. At 7 yards, that offset means a flat hold puts the bullet significantly below the point of aim. The DCR’s 7-yard aiming point corrects for this automatically, making it especially useful for room-clearing and close-quarters work.

What does lower 1/3 co-witness mean?

Co-witness refers to the relationship between the holographic reticle and the iron sights when both are visible simultaneously. Lower 1/3 co-witness means the iron sights appear in the lower third of the holographic window rather than centered. This keeps the reticle uncluttered during normal use — the iron sights are visible but not dominating the sight picture. The 7mm raised QD base on the EXPS3-DCR is designed to achieve this height with standard mil-spec front and rear iron sights on an AR-15.

What night vision devices is this compatible with?

The EXPS3-DCR is compatible with Generation I through Generation III+ night vision devices. It includes 10 dedicated night vision brightness settings in addition to 20 daylight settings, for 30 total. The NV settings reduce reticle brightness to a level that avoids blooming or washing out the image when viewed through a night vision device. Specific NV device compatibility can vary — refer to EOTech’s documentation or contact EOTech directly for compatibility confirmation with a specific device.

What zero should I use with the DCR reticle?

The DCR is designed around a 50-yard zero on a .223/5.56 rifle. With that zero established using the center chevron, the reticle geometry automatically provides the correct aiming points for 7-yard and 200-yard shots without any holdover calculation. If you use a different zero distance or a different caliber, the three aiming points will no longer correspond to those specific distances — the DCR is optimized specifically for the 50-yard zero on .223/5.56.

How does the EXPS3 differ from the XPS3?

The EXPS (Enhanced XPS) adds a quick-detach lever mount and moves the battery tray to the side of the housing, freeing up rail space ahead of the sight for a magnifier. The XPS uses a thumbscrew mount and positions the battery in the rear, which limits magnifier placement. Both use the same holographic window and reticle system. The EXPS form factor is preferred for setups that include a flip-to-side or slip-on magnifier behind the optic.

About EOTech

EOTech is the originator of the holographic weapon sight, manufacturing optics trusted by military and law enforcement units worldwide since the late 1990s. Built in Ann Arbor, Michigan, every EOTech sight is made in the USA and engineered to perform in extreme conditions. Their EXPS series represents the current standard for holographic close-quarters optics on the AR-15 platform.
