The Magpul MBUS Pro Front Sight is a low-profile, all-steel folding front sight for any rifle equipped with a M1913 Picatinny rail. Machined from case-hardened steel and treated with a QPQ salt bath nitride (Melonite) finish, it is built to withstand the wear, corrosion, and hard use that aluminum-bodied sights are not. The slim, open-top design makes it compatible with IR aiming lasers, white lights, and other rail-mounted accessories where a hooded front sight would create clearance issues — a meaningful distinction for shooters running night-vision or illumination setups.
Precision is built in from the start. The Magpul Enhanced Front Sight Post is included and rotates between two selectable widths: a 0.04" match post for precision and competition shooting, and a 0.06" standard post for maximum visibility in field and defensive applications. MOA per click is ~1 MOA at a 14.5" sight radius and ~0.7 MOA at a 20" sight radius — published numbers that let you calculate precise adjustments rather than guess-and-check at the range.
Elevation adjustment requires no tools. The knob is hand-operable and features its own positive detent, so each click is tactile and audible — the adjustment stays exactly where you set it and doesn't walk under recoil. The sight also locks positively in both the deployed and stowed positions via detents, holding at standard AR sight height when up and collapsing to a ~0.43" profile when folded.

How do I use the MOA-per-click data to zero this sight?
The published MOA-per-click values let you calculate adjustments precisely before going to the range. At a 14.5" sight radius (common on shorter AR-15s), each click moves point of impact approximately 1 MOA — roughly 1.131" at 100 meters. At a 20" sight radius, each click moves approximately 0.7 MOA (0.820" at 100 meters). To use these numbers: measure how far off zero you are at your target distance, divide by the MOA-per-click value for your sight radius, and turn that many clicks in the correct direction. This eliminates range guesswork and speeds up the zeroing process significantly.
How does the tool-less elevation knob work, and what does the detent do?
The elevation adjustment knob is rotated by hand — no sight tool required. A positive detent built into the knob provides a tactile click at each adjustment position, confirming the setting and preventing the knob from drifting due to recoil or vibration.
