For a non-magnified reflex sight used at practical shooting distances, this means you can acquire the dot from any natural head position and break an accurate shot without having to perfectly center your eye first.

The redesigned see-through riser mount raises the Romeo MSR Gen II to a height that allows standard AR iron sights to remain visible through the lower portion of the optic's field of view. This is known as absolute co-witness — the iron sight posts and dot align in the same sight picture. If your iron sights are deployed, you can verify alignment or transition to iron sights if needed without removing the optic. The see-through window in the riser base is what enables this — you can see through the mount itself even when the optic is mounted and in use.

The Romeo MSR Gen II is rated for 35,000 hours of battery life at brightness setting 6 on a single CR2032 3V lithium coin cell battery. The CR2032 is one of the most common battery formats available — found in hardware stores, pharmacies, and most general retailers. At moderate use (a few hours per range session), this translates to years of operation before replacement is needed. The battery comes installed in the sight.
