Shipping & returns — Trusted Distribution Partner items
When will my order ship?

Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.

Will tracking come from Faxon?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.

Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.

How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”

Is this product authentic and covered by warranty?

Yes. All Trusted Distribution Partner products are sourced from authorized distributors and are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Faxon stands behind every product sold on faxonfirearms.com.

TRIJICON RMR TYPE 2 ADJUSTABLE LED REFLEX SIGHT — 1 MOA

1 MOA Red Dot Most Precise RMR LED Dot Open Emitter Auto / Manual Brightness 4-Year Battery 1.2 oz RMR Footprint
Factory Testing Notice: All Trijicon optics are individually tested at the factory and may show minor signs of use. This is a standard part of Trijicon’s quality control process and does not affect function, performance, or warranty coverage.

The Trijicon RMR Type 2 in 1 MOA is the smallest, most precise dot configuration in the RMR Adjustable LED lineup. A 1 MOA dot subtends just one inch at 100 yards — virtually a pinpoint — making it the choice for shooters who demand the most exact shot placement the platform can deliver. Where larger dots trade some precision for faster acquisition, the 1 MOA variant is built for applications where the dot must sit precisely on the target without obscuring it: long-range pistol competition, precision rifle backup use, and any scenario where the shooter has the composure and training to find a small dot quickly and call the exact moment of trigger break. The full Type 2 platform carries over: ruggedized electronics, ambidextrous power controls, tactile click-adjustments, forged aluminum housing engineered for pistol slide recoil, and the industry-standard RMR footprint. At 1.2 ounces with battery and up to four years of continuous use on a single CR2032, it is the precision apex of the RMR LED series.

When 1 MOA Is the Right Choice

Dot size is a direct trade-off between acquisition speed and shot precision. A 1 MOA dot occupies the least visual real estate of any dot in the RMR lineup, sitting precisely on the target at any distance without covering it. At 25 yards, a 1 MOA dot subtends just 0.25 inches — well inside the X-ring of any competition target. At 100 yards it remains a precise 1-inch reference. This makes the 1 MOA the preferred configuration for precision pistol competition, for shooters running the RMR as a backup sight on a precision rifle where the dot must not obscure small targets, and for any shooter whose technique and training allows them to find and confirm a small dot consistently under their use conditions.

The meaningful trade-off compared to larger RMR dots is acquisition speed under stress or low light. A 1 MOA dot requires slightly more visual precision to locate during a fast draw than a 3.25 or 6.5 MOA dot, and it can be harder to resolve in very low ambient light at low brightness settings. Shooters who choose the 1 MOA configuration typically do so because their training has conditioned them to find and confirm a small dot quickly, and because the precision gain at distance is worth the minor acquisition cost. If you are uncertain between 1 MOA and 3.25 MOA, the 3.25 is the more versatile all-purpose choice; the 1 MOA rewards the shooter who has specifically built their technique around it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why might this optic show signs of use if it is listed as new?

Trijicon individually tests every optic at the factory before it ships — this is part of their quality control process, not a sampling program. The testing process may leave minor cosmetic marks such as light contact points from test fixtures or faint handling marks. These do not affect the optic’s function, zero retention, or brightness, and the optic ships with its full manufacturer warranty intact. Trijicon’s position is that a tested optic with known performance is preferable to an untested one that looks pristine. If you have any concerns about the specific condition of your unit upon arrival, contact us.

How small is 1 MOA in practical terms and is it right for me?

At 100 yards, a 1 MOA dot subtends exactly one inch. At 25 yards it covers about 0.25 inches, and at 7 yards it covers roughly 0.07 inches — essentially invisible against any normal-sized target at close range. This makes it the most precise option in the RMR lineup by a meaningful margin. The 1 MOA is the right choice if you are a competition shooter focused on precision scoring, if you are running the optic primarily at distances beyond 25 yards, or if you have developed the training and technique to locate a very small dot consistently. If you are newer to optics-equipped pistols, use the optic primarily for defensive carry at close range, or want the most versatile all-around dot, the 3.25 MOA is the better starting point. The 1 MOA rewards dedicated training and a precision-first approach.

What is the difference between the RMR Type 1 and Type 2?

The RMR Type 2 retains the same forged aluminum housing, mounting footprint, reticle options, and core durability of the Type 1, and adds several meaningful improvements: a dedicated brightness toggle for switching between manual and automatic brightness modes without cycling through all levels; ruggedized electronics throughout the optic; ambidextrous power controls; and redesigned adjustment screws with tactile click feedback for more precise zeroing. If you have existing RMR-cut slides, mounts, or holsters from the Type 1 era, the Type 2 is a direct drop-in replacement — the footprint is identical.

How does auto brightness work and when should I use manual mode?

In automatic mode, the RMR Type 2’s ambient light sensor continuously monitors the environment and adjusts the dot brightness to stay visible without blooming or washing out. This is the most convenient setting for general carry and use where lighting conditions change — moving from indoors to outdoors, low-light environments, or varying weather. Manual mode gives the shooter direct control over the brightness level. For the 1 MOA dot specifically, manual mode can be useful in very bright conditions where you want to ensure the dot is set to maximum intensity so a small dot does not fade against a bright background. Night vision users will also want manual mode to hold a specific low setting.

Why is the RMR the industry standard footprint and does it matter?

The RMR was among the first rugged micro red dots purpose-built for pistol slide mounting, and its footprint became widely adopted before competing standards emerged. Today, virtually every major holster manufacturer — Safariland, Blackhawk, Raven Concealment, G-Code, and many others — produces RMR-compatible holsters. Slide machinists and pistol OEMs that offer optics-ready models frequently cut to the RMR footprint as their primary or only option. This means choosing the RMR gives you the largest selection of compatible holsters, mounts, and accessories of any micro red dot currently on the market. If you plan to run the optic on a carry or competition pistol, the holster compatibility difference between RMR and non-standard footprints is significant and practical.

About Trijicon

Trijicon is an American optics manufacturer headquartered in Wixom, Michigan. Founded in 1981, Trijicon built their reputation on self-luminous tritium iron sights and the ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight), which became the standard-issue optic for U.S. military infantry forces. The RMR, introduced in 2009, extended their mission-critical standard to micro red dot optics and became the definitive benchmark for pistol-mounted reflex sights. Trijicon products are used by U.S. military special operations units, federal law enforcement, and law enforcement agencies worldwide. All Trijicon optics are covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
