Shipping & returns — Trusted Distribution Partner items
When will my order ship?

Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.

Will tracking come from Faxon?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.

Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.

How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”

Is this product authentic and covered by warranty?

Yes. All Trusted Distribution Partner products are sourced from authorized distributors and are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Faxon stands behind every product sold on faxonfirearms.com.

Trijicon RMR Type 2 Adjustable LED Reflex Sight 3.25 MOA RM06-C-700672, forged aluminum open emitter red dot automatic brightness waterproof Trijicon — Optics & Sights

TRIJICON RMR TYPE 2 ADJUSTABLE LED REFLEX SIGHT — 3.25 MOA

3.25 MOA Red Dot Open Emitter Auto / Manual Brightness Waterproof 20m 4-Year Battery 1.2 oz RMR Footprint
Factory Testing Notice: All Trijicon optics are individually tested at the factory and may show minor signs of use. This is a standard part of Trijicon’s quality control process and does not affect function, performance, or warranty coverage.

The Trijicon RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) is the micro red dot that established the category. Since its introduction, the RMR footprint has become the de facto industry standard for handgun-mounted optics, with more holster options, slide cuts, and mounting solutions available for the RMR than any other micro red dot on the market. The Type 2 refines the original with a brightness toggle for seamless switching between manual and automatic brightness modes, ruggedized electronics and ambidextrous power controls, and new tactile click-adjustments for more precise and confident zeroing. The forged aluminum housing is designed specifically to withstand the harsh recoil environment of a semi-automatic pistol slide — not merely adapted from a rifle optic. At 1.2 ounces with battery and waterproof to 20 meters, the RMR Type 2 is as capable as a backup sight on a rifle or shotgun as it is as a primary optic on a duty pistol.

Type 2 Improvements Over the Original RMR

The Type 2 addresses the most common friction points in the original RMR platform. The brightness toggle lets the shooter choose between manual brightness selection — where the user sets a fixed level — and automatic brightness, where the optic’s sensor reads ambient light and adjusts continuously. The original RMR required cycling through all brightness levels to switch modes; the Type 2 makes this a deliberate, quick toggle. The electronics package has been ruggedized throughout, and the power controls are now ambidextrous, allowing left-handed shooters and gloved hands to operate the optic without compromise. The tactile click-adjustment system provides audible and physical confirmation of each MOA click, making zeroing more precise and less prone to accidental movement during the process.

The mounting footprint is identical to the RMR Type 1, making the Type 2 a direct drop-in upgrade on any existing RMR-cut slide, mount, or platform. The RMR footprint is the most widely supported micro red dot standard in the industry — virtually every major holster manufacturer, slide machinist, and accessory maker produces RMR-compatible products. Investing in the RMR platform means the widest possible ecosystem of compatible gear, now and in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why might this optic show signs of use if it is listed as new?

Trijicon individually tests every optic at the factory before it ships — this is part of their quality control process, not a sampling program. The testing process may leave minor cosmetic marks such as light contact points from test fixtures or faint handling marks. These do not affect the optic’s function, zero retention, brightness, or water resistance, and the optic ships with its full manufacturer warranty intact. Trijicon’s position is that a tested optic with known performance is preferable to an untested one that looks pristine. If you have any concerns about the specific condition of your unit upon arrival, contact us.

What is the difference between the RMR Type 1 and Type 2?

The RMR Type 2 retains the same forged aluminum housing, mounting footprint, reticle options, and core durability of the Type 1, and adds several meaningful improvements: a dedicated brightness toggle that allows the user to switch between manual and automatic brightness modes without cycling through all levels; ruggedized electronics throughout the optic; ambidextrous power controls that work equally well for left- and right-handed shooters or under gloves; and redesigned adjustment screws with tactile click feedback for more precise zeroing. If you have existing RMR-cut slides, mounts, or holsters from the Type 1 era, the Type 2 is a direct fit — the footprint is identical.

How does auto brightness work and when should I use manual mode?

In automatic mode, the RMR Type 2’s ambient light sensor continuously monitors the environment and adjusts the dot brightness to stay visible without blooming or washing out. This is the most convenient setting for general carry and use where lighting conditions change — moving from indoors to outdoors, low-light environments, or varying weather. Manual mode gives the shooter direct control over the brightness level and holds that setting regardless of ambient light. Manual mode is preferred when conditions are predictable and you want a consistent dot appearance, or when using the optic with night vision where a specific low-brightness setting must be maintained.

Why is the RMR the industry standard footprint and does it matter?

The RMR was one of the first rugged micro red dots purpose-built for pistol slide mounting, and its footprint became widely adopted before competing standards emerged. Today, virtually every major holster manufacturer — Safariland, Blackhawk, Raven Concealment, G-Code, and many others — produces RMR-compatible holsters. Slide machinists and pistol OEMs that offer optics-ready models frequently cut to the RMR footprint as their primary or only option. This means choosing the RMR gives you the largest selection of compatible holsters, mounts, and accessories of any micro red dot currently on the market. If you plan to run the optic on a carry pistol, the holster compatibility difference between RMR and non-standard footprints is significant and practical.

What does 3.25 MOA mean and is it the right dot size for me?

MOA (Minute of Angle) expresses the angular size of the dot as it appears to the shooter. A 3.25 MOA dot covers approximately 3.25 inches at 100 yards — at 25 yards it covers roughly 0.8 inches, and at 7 yards it covers about 0.25 inches. For defensive handgun use, 3.25 MOA is one of the most popular sizes: large enough to find quickly during a fast presentation, small enough to achieve precise shot placement at realistic defensive distances. Smaller dots (1-2 MOA) are preferred for precision competition or long-range work where the dot covering the target becomes a concern; larger dots (6.5+ MOA) are typically preferred for very close-range fast shooting. For general duty, carry, and defensive use, 3.25 MOA is an excellent all-around choice.

About Trijicon

Trijicon is an American optics manufacturer headquartered in Wixom, Michigan. Founded in 1981, Trijicon built their reputation on self-luminous tritium iron sights and the ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight), which became the standard-issue optic for U.S. military infantry forces. The RMR, introduced in 2009, extended their mission-critical standard to micro red dot optics and became the definitive benchmark for pistol-mounted reflex sights. Trijicon products are used by U.S. military special operations units, federal law enforcement, and law enforcement agencies worldwide. All Trijicon optics are covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
