When will my order ship?
Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.
Will tracking come from Faxon?
Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.
Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?
No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.
How do returns work for partner-shipped items?
Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

ARKEN OPTICS SH-4J 6-24x50 FFP RIFLE SCOPE — VHR ILLUMINATED / MRAD TURRETS / 34mm
The Arken Optics SH-4J 6-24x50 FFP VHR MRAD (SH4J-6241VHR) is the MRAD-turret variant of the SH-4J 6-24x VHR scope. All specifications are identical to the MOA variant (SH4J-6240VHR) — 34mm tube, 36.6 oz, Japanese ED glass, VHR reticle with red center illumination, AZS zero stop, 32 MIL of elevation travel, 6-24x magnification, sunshade included. The single difference is click unit: 0.1 MIL per click, 8 MIL per revolution. This is the right choice for hunters using metric ballistic data, MRAD-output rangefinders, or any workflow that keeps corrections in a consistent unit system without converting between MIL and MOA.
On a 34mm platform with 32 MIL of elevation, the SH-4J MRAD has 320 clicks of elevation travel at 0.1 MIL each — a large dialing budget for hunters who need to reach out at steep angles, shoot calibers with higher ballistic drops, or simply want headroom when zeroed from a flat rail. The VHR reticle provides field-speed holdover marks in FFP, accurate at any magnification from 6x through 24x, while the MRAD turrets accept metric ballistic inputs directly without conversion. Japanese ED glass delivers the image quality expected from the SH-4J upgrade over the base SH-4, and the included sunshade adds field utility at no additional cost.
At 0.1 MIL per click across 32 MIL of total travel, the SH-4J MRAD has 320 elevation clicks from stop to stop — 4 full revolutions of 80 clicks each. For hunters dialing from a 100-meter zero, this covers a wide range of engagement distances on virtually any hunting cartridge, with substantial reserve before reaching the end of adjustment range.
Each click is 0.1 MIL — approximately 1 cm at 100 meters, 0.36 inches at 100 yards. For hunters whose ballistic app outputs drops in MRAD, dial the output directly: a 4.7 MIL correction is 47 clicks, no multiplication, no rounding to MOA. What the app says is what the turret gets.
The SH-4J upgrade from the base SH-4 brings Japanese Extra-Low Dispersion glass as a standard inclusion. ED glass minimizes chromatic aberration — the color fringing that reduces resolution at high magnification. At 24x on a 50mm objective in low-light conditions, ED glass maintains clarity that standard glass at this price point typically cannot match.
The Variable Hunter Reticle keeps the sight picture clean for fast acquisition and intuitive holdover use. In this first focal plane configuration, the VHR marks scale correctly at every magnification. Whether you engage at 6x in timber or dial to 24x for a distant field shot, the VHR holdovers remain accurate without magnification-specific adjustments to your holds.

The SH-4J elevation turret increases elevation with counter-clockwise rotation, consistent with the Arken EP and SH series. This is opposite to many common scopes where clockwise is up. Verify direction during your first zeroing session. The AZS zero stop is reached by rotating clockwise back to the stop after dialing up corrections.
The sunshade threads onto the 50mm objective bell to reduce glare and light scatter from direct or oblique sunlight. Particularly useful at dawn and dusk when the sun is low relative to your shooting position, or when shooting across open terrain with angled light. Attach the sunshade for improved contrast in bright conditions and remove it when not needed without affecting zero or adjustments.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the only difference between this scope and the MOA variant (SH4J-6240VHR)?
The turret click unit is the only difference. This MRAD variant (SH4J-6241VHR) clicks in 0.1 MIL increments with 8 MIL per revolution. The MOA variant (SH4J-6240VHR) clicks in 1/4 MOA increments with 20 MOA per revolution. Every other specification is identical: 6-24x magnification, 50mm objective, 34mm tube, 36.6 oz, VHR reticle, red center illumination, Japanese ED glass, AZS zero stop, adjustable windage, sunshade included, eye relief, field of view, parallax range, length, finish, and price. Choose MRAD if your ballistic data is in MIL or you prefer metric. Choose MOA if your data or workflow is in MOA.
Does the SH-4J have a capped or exposed windage turret?
The SH-4J has an exposed, adjustable windage turret with 10 MIL / 34 MOA of total travel. Unlike the EP-L4 series which features a capped set-and-forget windage design, the SH-4J’s windage is fully accessible. For most hunting use, zero windage at the range and leave it set, making elevation-only adjustments in the field with the AZS turret. The VHR reticle’s horizontal marks provide holdover reference for wind calls without requiring windage turret adjustments between shots.
What rings fit the SH-4J?
The SH4J-6241VHR requires 34mm scope rings or a 34mm one-piece mount. Standard 30mm rings will not fit. At 14.1 inches in length and a 50mm objective, ring height selection should account for adequate barrel clearance on your specific rifle. A 20 MOA canted Picatinny rail can extend the practical use of the SH-4J’s 32 MIL elevation budget by shifting the zero point so more travel is reserved for upward dialing to distant targets.
Is the battery included?
No. The SH-4J uses a CR2032 coin cell for center illumination, which is not included. The sunshade is included. CR2032 batteries are widely available at pharmacies and sporting goods stores. The scope functions normally as a non-illuminated FFP scope without the battery.
