When will my order ship?
Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.
Will tracking come from Faxon?
Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.
Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?
No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.
How do returns work for partner-shipped items?
Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

ARKEN OPTICS SH-4J 6-24x50 FFP RIFLE SCOPE — VHR ILLUMINATED / MOA TURRETS / 34mm
The Arken Optics SH-4J 6-24x50 FFP VHR MOA (SH4J-6240VHR) is the upgraded SH-4 series scope, now featuring Japanese ED glass as a standard inclusion and a choice of VHR (Variable Hunter Reticle) or VPR (Variable Precision Reticle) configurations. Built on a 34mm main tube, the SH-4J delivers 32 MIL / 108 MOA of total elevation travel — a substantial adjustment envelope suited to extended-range hunting and dialing from a flat rail without a canted base. The VHR (Variable Hunter Reticle) on this variant provides a clean, field-speed sight picture with practical holdover marks accurate at all magnifications in FFP. Turrets are 1/4 MOA per click with 20 MOA per revolution and AZS zero stop on elevation. A sunshade is included.
At 6-24x, the SH-4J covers a range appropriate for most hunting applications — enough low-end magnification to keep both eyes situationally aware at moderate distances, with 24x to resolve detail and apply holdovers precisely at extended range. The 50mm objective gathers strong light in dawn and dusk conditions. At $329.99 on a 34mm platform with Japanese ED glass, AZS, 108 MOA of elevation, red center illumination, and a sunshade, the SH-4J VHR MOA is a competitive FFP package for hunters who want a full-sized 34mm scope with Japanese glass at a price point that used to require a different tier of commitment.
The SH-4J raises the bar over the base SH-4 by making Japanese Extra-Low Dispersion glass standard in every configuration. ED glass minimizes chromatic aberration — the color fringing that reduces edge clarity at high magnification. On a 6-24x scope, the difference between standard and ED glass becomes more noticeable as magnification increases and the optical path puts more demand on glass quality.
The 34mm main tube provides the expanded internal adjustment capacity needed to achieve 32 MIL / 108 MOA of total elevation travel. This is among the highest elevation ranges in the SH series and allows hunters to zero at 100 yards and have substantial dialing range remaining for corrections at 600, 800, or beyond — or to use a flat Picatinny rail without running out of elevation headroom.
The Variable Hunter Reticle is designed for fast acquisition and instinctive holdover judgment in field conditions. The VHR keeps the sight picture clean and uncluttered, with practical holdover marks that work intuitively for hunting distances. In FFP, the marks scale correctly at any magnification from 6x through 24x. For hunters who want a more detailed MIL holdover grid, the VPR variant (SH4J-6240VPR) uses the same SH-4J body with Arken’s precision reticle.
A sunshade is included with the SH4J-6240VHR. The sunshade threads onto the objective bell to reduce glare and light scatter from direct or oblique sunlight entering the objective lens, improving image contrast in bright field conditions. Particularly useful for hunters who glass into the sun at dawn or dusk, or who shoot across open terrain with the sun at an angle.

The SH-4J’s 34mm tube supports 32 MIL / 108 MOA of total elevation adjustment — 4 full revolutions of the AZS elevation turret at 20 MOA per revolution. For hunters zeroed at 100 yards on standard hunting cartridges, this provides a wide margin before approaching the end of the adjustment range, even when shooting from a flat Picatinny rail. For extreme long-range hunting or cartridges with steep ballistic curves, the elevation budget can be further extended with a 20 MOA canted rail, adding that offset to every distance in the firing solution.
The SH-4J elevation turret increases elevation with counter-clockwise rotation, consistent with the Arken EP and SH series. This is opposite to many common scopes where clockwise is up. Verify rotation direction during your first zeroing session. The AZS zero stop is reached by rotating clockwise back to the stop after dialing up corrections.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SH-4J and how does it differ from the SH-4 Gen II?
The SH-4J is Arken’s upgraded SH-4 model, with Japanese ED glass now included as standard equipment rather than an optional upgrade, and a choice between VHR and VPR reticles. The SH-4 Gen II (4-16x) and SH-4J (6-24x) differ primarily in magnification range and resulting field specifications. The SH-4J’s 6-24x gives more top-end magnification for extended-range shooting, while the SH-4 Gen II’s 4-16x gives a wider 4x minimum field of view for close-range versatility. Both are 34mm FFP scopes with AZS zero stops and Japanese ED glass. Choose the SH-4J if extended magnification reach and maximum elevation adjustment are the priority; choose the SH-4 Gen II if wide low-power FOV and close-range flexibility matter more.
What rings or mounts fit the SH-4J?
The SH4J-6240VHR requires 34mm scope rings or a 34mm one-piece mount. Standard 30mm rings will not fit. At 14.1 inches in length and a 50mm objective bell, ring height should account for barrel-to-bell clearance based on your specific rifle. With 32 MIL / 108 MOA of elevation travel, a flat Picatinny rail typically provides adequate adjustment for most hunting applications. A 20 MOA canted rail can extend the practical dialing range at extreme distances by reserving more of the elevation budget for upward corrections rather than zero compensation.
Does the SH-4J have a capped or exposed windage turret?
The SH-4J has an adjustable windage turret with 10 MIL / 34 MOA of total windage travel. Unlike the EP-L4 series which features a capped set-and-forget windage turret, the SH-4J windage is exposed and adjustable. Zero windage at the range and use the AZS elevation turret for field dialing. For wind corrections in the field, the VHR reticle provides holdover references for horizontal holds without requiring the windage turret to be adjusted between shots.
How does the AZS zero stop work?
The Arken Zero Stop (AZS) provides a positive mechanical stop at your zeroed elevation position. After dialing up any amount of elevation correction, rotating the turret clockwise back toward zero will stop at the position you set as your zero. You feel and hear the stop confirming return-to-zero without counting revolutions. The AZS is toolless — set it at your zero during initial zeroing and it remains set for subsequent sessions.
Is the battery included?
No. The SH-4J uses a CR2032 coin cell battery for center illumination, which is not included. CR2032 batteries are widely available at pharmacies, hardware stores, and sporting goods retailers. The scope operates normally as a non-illuminated FFP scope without a battery installed. The sunshade is included. Pick up a CR2032 before your first session and carry a spare if you plan to use illumination regularly in low-light field conditions.
