The MS4 GEN2 uses the included steel QD D-Ring to bridge the front and rear sling sections into a one-point loop. In two-point mode, the D-Ring is disengaged and the front and rear portions run independently to two separate attachment points on the rifle. To convert, press the QD button on the D-Ring to release or engage the connection. The switch takes just a few seconds once you have done it a couple of times and does not require removing the sling from the weapon.

No. The MS4 GEN2 includes heavy-duty push-button QD swivels. What you do need is at least one (for one-point) or two (for two-point) QD sling swivel cups already installed on your rifle — these are the female sockets that the swivels click into. QD cups are found on most modern AR buttstocks, end plates, and handguards. If your rifle does not already have QD cups, you will need to add a QD end plate or other QD-equipped accessory before using this sling.

NIR stands for Near Infrared. Standard black nylon and hardware can reflect or emit IR light differently from surrounding gear when viewed through night vision devices, potentially creating a visible signature. NIR treatment on the MS4 GEN2 reduces this signature so the sling blends into your kit under NODs. If you do not use night vision, NIR treatment has no impact on everyday use — the sling looks and functions identically. If you do run night vision, it is a meaningful spec that eliminates one potential IR hot spot on your kit.

No. The MS4 GEN2 is an unpadded sling. This keeps it slim, light, and fast to adjust — padding adds bulk and can slow adjustment. For most patrol, range, or tactical use the 1.25" webbing distributes weight adequately for shorter-duration carries. If you regularly carry a heavy rifle for extended periods without body armor, a padded sling may be more comfortable. For everything else, the unpadded profile is the right call.
