Will tracking come from Faxon?
Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.
Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

BLUE FORCE GEAR GMT SLING — BLACK — 1.25" — GMT125OABK
Blue Force Gear reimagined the tail sling from the ground up. The GMT Sling ("Give Me Tail") replaces the failure-prone ALICE-pack-era metal adjuster and thin flat nylon webbing of legacy designs with a custom double-locking glass-filled nylon buckle and BFG’s proprietary solution-dyed CORDURA webbing. The result is a tail sling that adjusts consistently, stays where you set it, and won’t rust, break, or snag your other kit.
Why the GMT Is Different
Legacy tail slings rely on a spring-loaded ALICE Pack adjuster — a design from the 1960s. The spring fails. The release snags. The thin flat nylon required by that adjuster cuts into the shoulder under load and ends up behind triggers, in front of optics, and in magwells. BFG spent over two years developing a better system.
The GMT’s double-locking buckle is machined from glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel nylon — rust-free, spring-free, and snag-resistant by design. Pull the tail to tighten; grasp the spherical release knob and pull to loosen. A sewn-in stop at the tail end prevents the sling from separating and releasing your weapon. The buckle maintains consistent tension whether tightening or loosening — it doesn’t creep, slip, or require re-setting.
The 1.25" INVISTA CORDURA webbing has more loft — thickness and softness — than traditional flat nylon sling material. It sits comfortably against the shoulder and neck under load, and its texture makes it less prone to migrating into critical areas of your kit compared to thin flat webbing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the double-locking adjuster work?
Pull the free tail of the sling to tighten — the buckle grips the webbing and holds tension without creeping. To loosen, grasp the spherical release knob on the adjuster and pull it while feeding webbing through. The adjuster maintains consistent tension in both directions, unlike spring-loaded ALICE adjuster designs that rely on a spring to hold position. A sewn-in stop at the end of the tail prevents the sling from pulling through entirely.
What is the difference between the GMT and the Vickers Sling?
The Vickers Sling is BFG’s original captured-tail design — the free tail is captured and managed so it doesn’t move independently of the rifle. The GMT is a free-tail design for shooters who prefer that setup and want it done right. If you prefer the look, feel, or tradition of a tail sling but want modern hardware and webbing, the GMT is the answer. If the idea of a free tail is a concern, BFG’s Vickers Sling is the proven alternative.
Should I choose the 1" or 1.25" version?
The 1" version is recommended for ultralight rifle builds, submachine guns, and pistol-caliber carbines where a narrower profile is preferred. The 1.25" version (this listing) is recommended for AR-15s, AR-10s, shotguns, and standard service rifles, where the added width distributes weight more comfortably across the shoulder under sustained carry.
How is the GMT sling attached to my rifle?
The GMT installs via triglides and is compatible with QD swivel sockets, fixed sling loops, or standard sling attachment hardware. It works with the vast majority of sling attachment points found on modern AR-15 and AR-10 handguards, stocks, and end plates.
Why no metal hardware?
Metal hardware on a sling introduces several failure modes: corrosion in wet or humid environments, spring fatigue and failure in the adjuster mechanism, and abrasion damage to other gear during contact. BFG’s choice of glass-reinforced Zytel nylon eliminates all three. It’s structurally strong enough for the loads a sling experiences, rust-proof, and won’t scratch or mar the finish on your weapon or attached accessories.
