The 35" interior length accommodates most standard-configuration AR-15s and AR-10s with the stock collapsed or at a mid-length setting, AK-pattern rifles with a standard fixed or folding stock, and pistol-configuration ARs with braces. A standard AR-15 with a 16" barrel and a fully collapsed M4 stock measures roughly 32"–33" OAL, fitting comfortably. Rifles with longer barrels, full-length fixed stocks, or suppressor attachments may exceed the 35" interior — measure your rifle’s overall length with the stock in its carry position before ordering.

DAKA Grit is Magpul’s proprietary fabric construction: a 600D nylon base with a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) kiss-coat on the facing side and a TPU backing layer. The seams are RF (radio frequency) welded rather than sewn at critical stress points, which eliminates needle holes that can wick moisture and creates a stronger bond than thread at high-load areas. The result is a shell that is more resistant to abrasion and water intrusion than standard coated nylon, without the weight penalty of heavier canvas or Cordura constructions.

Yes. The slotted MOLLE-style base is compatible with standard MOLLE/PALS-pattern pouches in addition to the included DAKA Gear Straps. The DAKA Gear Straps are the primary method for securing a rifle directly to the base, using the slots to strap the firearm flat. If you prefer to configure the base with ammunition pouches, accessory pouches, or other MOLLE-compatible gear instead, the slot spacing accommodates standard MOLLE weave patterns.

The SC35 soft case is dimensionally designed to fit inside the DAKA Hard Case C35 once the DAKA GRID foam insert is removed. This lets you use the soft case for everyday range carry — where you want light weight and flexibility — while having the option to slip it inside the hard case shell for checked baggage travel or vehicle transport where impact protection is needed. The two products are sold separately and together form a modular carry system for different protection requirements.

YKK Aquaguard zippers are weather-resistant, not submersion-proof. They are designed to resist rain, splashing, and incidental moisture contact, which covers the vast majority of range and field use cases. They will not keep out sustained submersion or directed water pressure. Combined with the RF-welded seams on the DAKA Grit shell, the SC35 will handle rain, humidity, and wet vehicle storage without concern — but it is not rated as a waterproof dry bag and should not be submerged.

The three interior stretch mesh pockets are sized for PMAG LR/SR GEN M3 magazines, which are among the larger standard magazines in the AR pattern. Each pocket holds two magazines, for a total of six. Standard PMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M3 magazines and most other AR-15 pattern magazines are physically smaller and will also fit. The stretch mesh accommodates a range of magazine sizes — the PMAG LR/SR GEN M3 sizing is the maximum intended capacity for the pockets.
