Why a 14.5″ M4

The 14.5″ M4 is the reference carbine: short enough for a vehicle or a hallway, long enough to keep 5.56 velocity useful, with carbine-length gas matched to the barrel. Its 1:7 twist is the military standard for stabilizing heavy projectiles, and it shoots 55 gr ball just as happily.

As an SBR, it keeps that barrel at its native 14.5″ with a real stock, rather than pinning and welding a device to reach 16″.

Is this an NFA item?

Yes. A 14.5″ barrel with a stock is a short-barreled rifle under the National Firearms Act. It transfers through a licensed dealer on an approved ATF Form 4. Check your state and local law before ordering.

Is the barrel chrome-lined?

Yes. It is Faxon’s Combat Series M4: 4150 CMV with a hard chrome-lined bore and manganese phosphate exterior, 1:7 twist, carbine-length gas.

How does the adjustable gas block work?

Faxon’s patented .750″ low-profile block has 14 tactile settings from fully open to fully closed, set with a 3/32″ hex key or a flat screwdriver. Close it down suppressed; open it up unsuppressed.

What trigger and controls does it have?

The Faxon Enhanced Match Trigger by Schmid® (curved, 3.5 lb), an ambidextrous safety, and the Faxon Edition Breek® Sledgehammer ambidextrous, gas-blocking charging handle.
