Part of Faxon's ION Line, the ION-X is purpose-built for competitive shooters, action-gun athletes, and anyone who wants the responsive handling and soft recoil of a finely tuned lightweight rifle—without paying boutique pricing. From the factory, every ION-X ships with a stack of out-of-the-box upgrades that would otherwise require a separate parts list and an afternoon at the bench.

At the heart of this build is the Faxon 16" 5.56 NATO Pencil Profile Barrel with 1/2x28 threading, paired with our slim 3-port muzzle brake for sharp recoil mitigation and faster follow-up shots. The brake's compact profile is engineered to clear the gas block and barrel nut, so you can pull either component for service without removing the muzzle device. The rifle is finished off with the Faxon X-Tra Lite Forged Receiver Set in Type III hard coat anodize, the Faxon Gunner Lightweight M16 BCG with Superfinish, our multi-position adjustable gas block for tuning suppressed or unsuppressed, and the Faxon Enhanced Match Trigger by Schmid® for crisp, consistent breaks under speed.
