Shipping & returns — Trusted Distribution Partner items
When will my order ship?

Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.

Will tracking come from Faxon?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.

Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.

How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”

TRIJICON RMR HD — 3.25 MOA MULTI-RETICLE SYSTEM

3.25 MOA Multi-Reticle Forward-Facing Sensor Top-Load Battery Night Vision Compatible 66-ft Waterproof RMR Footprint Made in USA
Factory Testing Notice: All Trijicon optics are individually tested at the factory and may show minor signs of use. This is a standard part of Trijicon’s quality control process and does not affect function, performance, or warranty coverage.

The 3.25 MOA dot has been the standard RMR configuration since the platform launched — the dot size that ships on more RMRs than any other, the one most shooters zero first, and the one the platform was originally optimized around. The Trijicon RMR HD 3.25 MOA is the HD evolution of that configuration. It brings every upgrade the HD platform introduces — forward-facing light sensor, top-loading battery, Multi-Reticle System, expanded window, night vision compatibility, 66-foot waterproofing — to the dot size that the largest existing base of RMR users already knows. The 3.25 MOA dot is the balanced choice: fast enough for close-range acquisition under time pressure, precise enough to engage scored targets at practical handgun distances. The circle-dot reticle option in the MRS extends that versatility further, adding a fast outer reference ring for close-range work while the 3.25 MOA center dot handles precision when the situation calls for it. For duty carry, general concealed carry, or any application where the RMR is the right optic and you want everything the platform is currently capable of, the 3.25 MOA HD is the configuration.

The HD Upgrade for the Most Common RMR Configuration

Why 3.25 MOA Remains the Standard

At typical defensive and duty engagement distances, the 3.25 MOA dot strikes the most practical balance in the RMR lineup. It is large enough to find quickly on a draw without hunting for it in the window, and small enough to hold a precise sight picture at distances where shot placement matters. At 25 yards it covers approximately 0.8 inches of target, leaving the scoring zone clearly visible. At 10 yards — the most common defensive engagement distance — it covers roughly a quarter inch. The 1 MOA requires more visual focus time at speed, and the 6.5 MOA begins to obscure targets at moderate distance. The 3.25 MOA sits in between without forcing a trade in either direction, which is why it became the default configuration and remains the most widely deployed dot size in the RMR family.

Multi-Reticle System

The MRS delivers two reticle configurations selectable via the brightness controls. In dot mode, the optic presents a clean 3.25 MOA red dot — the same aiming point the standard RMR delivers, with no additional visual elements. In circle-dot mode, a large outer ring surrounds the center dot, providing a fast close-range index point for high-speed target acquisition while the 3.25 MOA dot in the center handles precise aiming when needed. Both configurations share the same zero. Switching between them requires no tools and does not disturb the optic’s zero.

Forward-Facing Sensor and Top-Load Battery

The forward-mounted light sensor reads ambient light from the direction of the target rather than overhead, producing auto-brightness adjustment that tracks actual shooting environment lighting rather than overhead light sources. The top-loading battery tray lets you swap a CR2032 without removing the optic from the slide — no holster pull, no mount torque, no re-zero. These are both practical improvements for any operational context where the optic is mounted and stays mounted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why might this optic show signs of use if it is listed as new?

Trijicon individually tests every optic at the factory before it ships — this is part of their standard quality control process. The testing process may leave minor cosmetic marks from test fixtures or light handling. These marks do not affect function, zero retention, brightness performance, or warranty coverage. The optic arrives ready to use and fully covered by Trijicon’s limited lifetime warranty.

How does the Multi-Reticle System work and do both reticles share the same zero?

The Multi-Reticle System (MRS) lets the user switch between a simple 3.25 MOA red dot and a circle-dot reticle using the optic’s brightness buttons — no tools, no disassembly. Both reticle configurations are projected from the same LED system and share the same zero. Switching reticles does not require re-zeroing the optic. In dot mode, the optic presents a clean 3.25 MOA aiming point. In circle-dot mode, an outer ring is added that provides a fast close-range index while the center dot handles precision. Shooters can select the configuration that fits their current use — dot for precision work, circle-dot for close-range speed — without any tools or re-zero at any point.

Is the RMR HD a direct upgrade over a standard RMR Type 2 if I already have one?

The RMR HD mounts on any surface that accepts a standard RMR — if your slide is already cut to the RMR footprint, the HD drops in and secures without any additional machining. The zero you shoot in will be specific to the HD; it does not carry over from your previous optic, so a fresh zero is required after installation. Most existing RMR holsters will also fit the HD since the body profile is similar, but confirm with your holster manufacturer if you are running a tight-retention design. The HD adds features the Type 2 does not have: the forward-facing sensor, top-load battery, MRS reticle, deeper waterproofing, and NV compatibility. Whether those additions justify the price difference depends on your application — for a duty or hard-use context where NV compatibility and weather resistance are operational requirements, the HD closes real gaps. For a range optic or general carry where the Type 2 already meets the need, the Type 2 remains a capable choice at a lower price point.

Is the RMR HD night vision compatible with all generations of night vision?

Yes. The RMR HD includes three dedicated night vision brightness settings designed to work with Generation 1, Generation 2, and Generation 3 night vision devices. This is a significant expansion over the standard RMR Type 2, which is not certified for night vision use. The three NV settings produce specific low-output illumination levels calibrated for NV sensor technology. If NV compatibility is a requirement for your application, the RMR HD is the appropriate choice within the RMR family.

Does the RMR HD fit existing RMR mounts and holsters?

The RMR HD uses the same mounting footprint as the RMR Type 1 and Type 2. It seats directly on any RMR-cut slide or mount without modification. Holster compatibility is generally very good since the RMR HD body profile is similar to the standard RMR. Most holsters designed for the RMR will also fit the RMR HD, but confirm with the holster manufacturer before ordering if you are running a tight-fit retention holster. Note that the RMR HD requires the Trijicon AC30007 Battery Cap Tool for proper battery access — the standard RMR battery cap tool is not compatible with the HD’s top-loading tray design.

About Trijicon

Trijicon is an American optics manufacturer headquartered in Wixom, Michigan. Founded in 1981, Trijicon built their reputation on self-luminous tritium iron sights and the ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight), which became the standard-issue optic for U.S. military infantry forces. The RMR, introduced in 2009, established the benchmark for micro red dot pistol optics. The RMR HD represents the current evolution of that platform, incorporating engineering advances developed through over a decade of duty and operational use feedback. Trijicon products are used by U.S. military special operations units, federal law enforcement agencies, and professional competitive shooters worldwide. All Trijicon optics are covered by a limited lifetime warranty and manufactured in the United States.
