Yes. The MAG606 is compatible with any handguard that uses the standard M-LOK slot geometry — which covers virtually every current M-LOK-marked handguard on the market. The mount uses M-LOK hardware to lock into the slot, so as long as your handguard has an available M-LOK slot in the position you want the sling point, this mount will work.

QPQ stands for Quench-Polish-Quench, a ferritic nitrocarburizing process that diffuses nitrogen and carbon into the surface of steel. The result is a hard, corrosion-resistant surface finish that outperforms standard bluing and is comparable to many phosphate and anodize finishes in real-world use. On a sling mount that will see contact with swivels, webbing, and outdoor exposure, QPQ provides meaningful protection against rust and surface wear without adding dimensional thickness or requiring ongoing maintenance.

A standard QD socket lets the swivel rotate freely in 360 degrees. This sounds fine in theory but in practice means your sling can twist, the swivel can spin to an awkward position, and the sling webbing can bunch against the handguard. The MAG606’s anti-rotation design constrains the swivel from spinning, keeping the sling laying flat and oriented consistently. It is a small detail that makes a noticeable difference in day-to-day sling behavior, particularly on a hard-use rifle.

Placement depends on your sling and shooting style. For a two-point sling, most shooters position the forward mount at roughly the 9 o’clock or 6 o’clock position in the first third of the handguard — far enough forward to keep the sling out of your support hand grip, close enough to the muzzle end that the front loop does not create excess slack. The 6 o’clock (underside) position is popular for keeping the sling out of the way during shooting. Experiment with position before final torquing to find what works with your specific sling and carry style.

The MAG606 includes the mount and installation hardware only — a QD swivel is not included. You will need a separate push-button QD swivel to use with this mount. The Magpul QDM is a natural pairing and is available separately, as are QD swivels from other manufacturers. Any standard push-button QD swivel will fit the socket.
