Faxon Match Series Gunner Profile 7.5" 1:5T Pistol Gas 300 BLK AR-15 Barrel (15B35P7NGQ-5R-NP3)

The Faxon Match Series 7.5" 300 BLK Gunner Profile barrel is built for the most common real-world 300 Blackout use case: a compact AR pistol / PDW setup running heavy subsonic ammo, often suppressed, where bullet stability and consistent cycling matter more than anything else. A fast 1:5 twist (RH) helps stabilize longer, heavier 300 BLK projectiles in short barrels, and Faxon’s Match Series architecture is designed to keep performance repeatable: 416R stainless steel with 5R button rifling to help reduce jacket deformation and fouling versus traditional sharp-shouldered rifling. If you’re building a short 300 BLK that needs to run subs (and still behave when you switch to supers), this SKU is engineered to remove uncertainty.

Every Faxon rifle barrel begins life inside our Greater Cincinnati manufacturing operation, where we control critical steps from raw steel to finished barrel. Blanks are cut, drilled, reamed, and rifled in-house, then stabilized via stress relief before final profiling. All Faxon barrels are 100% magnetic particle inspected (MPI), and Faxon Match Series barrels are finished with a durable Salt Bath Nitride / QPQ for corrosion resistance and wear protection. For this specific barrel, critical features are verified using air-gauge bore checks, custom hardened gauges, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) verification of chamber geometry, along with 300 BLK GO/NO-GO headspace verification.

Suppressor ecosystem tip: If you plan to shoot both subsonic and supersonic loads—especially suppressed—pair this barrel with a tunable gas solution. An adjustable gas block and appropriate buffer/spring tuning can reduce blowback, smooth recoil impulse, and improve reliability across ammo types.

  • Best For: Suppressed 300 BLK pistols, heavy subs, compact builds
  • Not Ideal For: Sustained rapid fire where max heat tolerance is the priority
  • Why Match Series: 416R + 5R + recessed crown + NP3 extension + QPQ
  • Build Notes: 5/8x24 muzzle, .750 gas journal, pistol gas

FAQs

Is this barrel made in the USA?

Yes. This barrel is manufactured in-house by Faxon Firearms in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio.

Who is this 7.5" 300 BLK barrel for (and not for)?

Best for: compact AR pistols/PDWs, suppressed setups, and heavy-for-caliber subsonic loads where stability and tunability matter most.

Not ideal for: prolonged rapid-fire strings where maximum heat tolerance is the primary goal (consider Combat or Duty options depending on priorities).

Why a 1:5 twist for a short 300 Blackout barrel?

Short 300 BLK builds are commonly paired with longer/heavier bullets, especially for suppressed subsonic use. A fast 1:5 twist is selected to support stabilization and consistency with those projectiles in compact configurations.

What do I need to know for compatibility (threads, gas, gas block size)?

This barrel uses 5/8x24 muzzle threads, an AR-15 pistol-length gas system, and a .750" gas block journal for standard .750 gas blocks (including adjustable gas blocks).

How is quality verified on this barrel?

Faxon verifies critical features through inspection gates including air-gauge bore checks, custom hardened gauging, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) verification of chamber geometry, 300 BLK GO/NO-GO headspace verification, and 100% magnetic particle inspection (MPI).

Is this a good barrel for suppressed shooting?

Yes—this barrel is purpose-aligned to suppressed 300 BLK builds (especially heavy subs). For best results across subs and supers, use a tunable gas solution and buffer/spring tuning matched to your suppressor and ammo.

Faxon Match 7.5 Gunner 300 blackout 1:5 twist

Posted by Dennis Clark on Feb 25th 2024

I have purchased several Faxon barrels and researched the 1:3 and 1:5 twist barrels. When I saw this 1:5 in 300 blackout, I jumped on it. Shot it this morning and was very happy with this purchase. Outstanding barrel. Its my favorite and love it. Kudos to Faxon.

    A real winner

Posted by Andrew on Feb 19th 2024

While I may have some complaints with the 10.5, this barrel is a real treat. It likely outshoots my skill, and the craftsmanship is absolutely spot-on. Not sure if anyone else produces the 1:5, but this is where it's at for subsonic shooting! Haven't really tested accuracy (or gassiness) for supers, but I can't think of a better value product for shooting subsonic! Likely irrelevant for most users, but the Nickel Teflon extension is slightly over-spec, and mating this to an under-spec'd BCM upper had me sweating bullets that something was going to break...

    Spot on

Perfect length IMO. I have this barrel running on my SBR, I'm using standard buffer and an adj gas block. Shoots perfect, suppressed and not supressed. This is my backpack SBR and I couldn't be hoppier. I'm on 4 Faxon barrels and will not buy anything else.

    7.5" 1/5 twist 300 blk barrel

Love the barrel, running 100% supressed with an SLR Sentry adjustable gas block. Getting 1" groups @ 25yrds standing with Winchester 200gr HP subs. Running a Spike's Tactical lightweight bcg with Spike's T3 buffer and chrome silicone buffer spring.

    So far so good.

Just finished upper less than 100rds through barrel at this point, accuracy is better than my capabilities at this time. Shoots 110 and 155 loads with equal accuracy, 220s as well just have not tested accuracy with the 220s. Very happy with this barrel and hoping the 1/5 is of some benefit to bullet expansion, time will tell. As stated barrel is very accurate with multiple bullets weights, does well with suppressor, fit and finish are excellent and price is very reasonable.

Fits my needs for a build in progress, availability & pricing were both positive factors.

Purchased to upgrade a build I had built earlier. Wanted to try a different set up. Looking very much to get it out on the range & do some comparisons.
