Shipping & returns — Trusted Distribution Partner items
When will my order ship?

Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.

Will tracking come from Faxon?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.

Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.

How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”

Is this product authentic and covered by warranty?

Yes. All Trusted Distribution Partner products are sourced from authorized distributors and are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Faxon stands behind every product sold on faxonfirearms.com.

Wheeler 110128 Master Roll Pin Punch Set, 9-piece hardened steel punches with dual-head gunsmithing hammer, AR-15 gunsmithing tool kit Wheeler — Gunsmithing Tool

WHEELER MASTER ROLL PIN PUNCH SET — 110128

9-Piece Set Hardened Steel Punches Dual-Head Hammer Included Counter-Bored Tips Knurled Handles

The complete roll pin toolkit for AR-15 builders and gunsmiths. Wheeler’s Master Roll Pin Punch Set combines a 9-piece set of machined, hardened steel punches — covering every roll pin size you’ll encounter on an AR-15 — with a precision 6 oz. dual-head gunsmithing hammer in a single kit. Counter-bored tips seat over roll pins without slipping, and the knurled handles give you confident control whether you’re starting a tight pin or driving it home.

Built for the Job

Roll pins on the AR-15 — trigger guard, bolt catch, pivot pin detent, and others — require punches that fit precisely over the pin without mushrooming the pin or marring the receiver. Wheeler’s counter-bored tip design seats over the roll pin and centers the strike force on the pin itself, not on the surrounding surface. The punches are machined from steel and hardened to prevent bending or breaking under the repeated hammer strikes that seized pins demand.

The included 6 oz. hammer has a steel head for driving punches against metal surfaces and a brass head for situations where a softer strike is needed — starting pins, final seating, or any work where you need to prevent deforming the punch or marring a delicate surface. At 6 oz., it delivers enough mass for stubborn pins while maintaining the control that precision gunsmithing work requires.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a counter-bored tip and why does it matter?

A counter-bored (or cup-tipped) punch has a small recess machined into the tip that seats over the roll pin rather than contacting it flat. This centers the punch on the pin and keeps it from slipping during the hammer strike, which prevents the punch from skating across the receiver and marring the finish. It also concentrates the driving force directly on the pin rather than spreading it across the surrounding surface, which makes driving tight or seized pins much more reliable.

Which punch size do I need for the AR-15 trigger guard roll pin?

The trigger guard roll pin on an AR-15 lower receiver typically takes a 3/16" or 5/32" punch, depending on the specific lower. Both sizes are included in this set. Start with the 3/16" and switch to 5/32" if needed. Always support the trigger guard from below with a roll pin block or padded surface to avoid cracking the lower receiver during installation.

Why does the hammer have a steel head and a brass head?

The steel head is used for most punch-driving work — it delivers firm, consistent strikes against the punch shank without deforming. The brass head is softer than steel, so it’s used when you need to reduce the risk of deforming a punch tip or when you want a controlled, cushioned final strike to seat a pin without overstrike. Brass is also a good choice when working directly on a surface where a steel strike would leave a mark.

What is the difference between a roll pin punch and a standard drift punch?

A standard drift punch has a flat or tapered tip that contacts the surface of whatever it’s driving. Used on a roll pin, a flat-tipped punch tends to slip off the pin, which can mushroom the pin’s edge and mar the surrounding receiver surface. A roll pin punch has a counter-bored cup tip sized to fit over the pin, keeping the punch centered and delivering the strike cleanly through the pin. For AR-15 work, a dedicated roll pin punch set is strongly recommended over repurposing standard drift punches.

Does this kit include everything I need to install roll pins on an AR-15?

This kit includes all nine punch sizes you’ll need for AR-15 roll pin work and the hammer to drive them. For the best results, you’ll also want a roll pin starter punch block or lower vise block to stabilize the receiver, and a non-marring surface (nylon or rubber) under the work area. Those accessories are sold separately but are a worthwhile addition to any build bench.
