Under federal law (18 U.S.C. § 921), the serialized frame or receiver is legally defined as the "firearm" — regardless of whether it is stripped or complete. That means the frame alone is subject to all the same regulations as a finished pistol: it must transfer through a licensed FFL dealer, requires a Form 4473 and NICS background check, and cannot be shipped directly to your door.

To build a complete, functioning pistol on this frame you will need: a Glock® 19 Gen 3 compatible slide assembly (or a separate slide with sights), a compatible barrel, a recoil spring and guide rod assembly, a complete trigger group (trigger, trigger bar, connector, springs, and trigger pin — pin is not included with the frame), and at least one Glock® 17 compatible magazine. The locking block and two frame pins ship installed. If you are new to pistol builds, we recommend having the assembly completed or inspected by a qualified gunsmith before use.

The trigger pin is part of the trigger group assembly and is most practically sourced alongside your trigger components to ensure proper fit and function. Complete trigger group kits for Glock® 19 Gen 3 pattern frames typically include the trigger pin. The frame ships with the other two frame pins and the locking block loose in the box — none are pre-installed.

The FX19X is designed around a compact slide (Glock® 19 Gen 3 dimensions) on a full-size grip frame that accepts Glock® 17 magazines. This gives you the shorter sight radius and slide length of a compact pistol with the higher capacity of a full-size magazine. It is the same configuration as the complete FX-19X pistol — sometimes called a "compact carry" or "long grip" setup in the Glock® pattern world.

Yes — Glock® 19 magazines will fit and function in this frame, but the magazine will not fill the full grip length, resulting in a gap at the base of the grip and reduced capacity (15 rounds vs. 17). For the intended 17+1 capacity, use standard Glock® 17 double-stack 9mm magazines. Glock® 17 magazines are the correct fit for the full grip frame.

Because this is a serialized firearm frame, we are unable to ship to California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or New York. This applies to the frame regardless of whether it is stripped or configured as a complete pistol. Yes. The FX19X Compact Pistol Frame is covered by the Faxon Lifetime Guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. Note that damage from improper assembly, use of incompatible components, or abuse is not covered. Because this is a stripped frame, ensure all assembled components are of known quality and properly fitted. When in doubt, have a qualified gunsmith complete or inspect the build.
