The Faxon Superfinished 6.5 Grendel/ARC Gunner Lightweight Type 2 BCG (Nitride) combines two proven Faxon performance upgrades into one purpose-built package: the Gunner Lightweight carrier body and the Type 2 (.136") Grendel/ARC bolt. The result is a reduced-mass bolt carrier group designed to deliver fast, smooth cycling and reliable function across the Grendel/ARC bolt-face family.

The Type 2 bolt is machined from 9310 tool steel, fully MPI tested, heat treated, and shot peened. The bolt and carrier are treated with salt bath nitride for increased surface hardness, reduced friction, and superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional phosphate finishes. Faxon’s Superfinish on the carrier body helps reduce fouling and promotes smoother operation.

Faxon recommends the use of an adjustable gas block with Gunner Lightweight bolt carrier groups to properly tune the gas system—especially when changing ammunition, buffer systems, or running suppressed.
