When will my order ship?
Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.
Will tracking come from Faxon?
Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.
Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?
No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.
How do returns work for partner-shipped items?
Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

CNC Firearms Exclusive. The Faxon FX7 bolt-action precision rifle—reconfigured for 22 Creedmoor and built around a polished FX7 receiver. A flat-shooting long-range build with MDT, TriggerTech, and Faxon’s in-house barrel pedigree. Available exclusively through CNC Firearms, fulfilled through Sports South distribution.
The FX7 is Faxon’s precision bolt-action platform—a Remington Model 700 short-action footprint reengineered inside and out with the same machining standards that built Faxon’s reputation in barrels and components. A 416 stainless steel action body with integral recoil lug, a 4340 carbon steel bolt with Faxon’s signature flame fluting, a 70-degree bolt lift, and a 6-lug locking arrangement give the FX7 a fast, smooth, repeatable action backed by the lockup geometry serious shooters expect from a precision rifle.
This CNC Firearms exclusive pairs the FX7 action with a 16″ spiral-fluted, threaded 416-R stainless barrel chambered in 22 Creedmoor—the flat-shooting .224-caliber cartridge built off the 6.5 Creedmoor case for varmint, predator, and long-range target work. The barrel is salt-bath nitrided in black, spiral-fluted for weight reduction and heat dissipation, threaded for a suppressor or muzzle device, and topped with a recessed target crown. The polished FX7 receiver wears a 20-MOA Picatinny rail integral to the build, ready for a long-range optic right out of the box.
The rifle drops into an MDT Flat Dark Earth polymer stock with AICS magazine compatibility, adjustable cheek riser, and adjustable length of pull—and feeds from a 5-round MDT AICS-pattern magazine. Trigger duties are handled by a TriggerTech Primary, the company’s frictionless release trigger known for a clean, predictable break. 5+1 capacity, 16-inch handling, and 22 Creedmoor ballistics in a CNC Firearms exclusive package.
CNC Firearms Exclusive Configuration
This FX7 build is a limited configuration available only through CNC Firearms and its authorized dealer network, with fulfillment handled through Sports South distribution. The exclusive specification pairs Faxon’s polished FX7 receiver with a 16″ spiral-fluted, threaded 22 Creedmoor barrel and an FDE MDT Field Stock—a combination not offered in Faxon’s standard FX7 catalog. When this production run is gone, it’s gone.
How the FX7 Is Built
The FX7 starts with a Remington Model 700 short-action footprint and rebuilds the rest. The action body is machined from 416 stainless steel with an integral recoil lug—no separate recoil lug to clock, shim, or shift. A 20-MOA Picatinny optics rail comes integral to the receiver, giving long-range optics the elevation headroom they need without a separate base. Internal tolerances and lockup geometry are Faxon’s own work, not a 700 clone.
The bolt is 4340 carbon steel in a 6-lug arrangement (two rings of three) that drops the bolt lift to 70 degrees—a shorter throw than a conventional 90-degree two-lug action, leaving more clearance under a scope and shaving time off the cycle. The bolt features Faxon’s Original Flame Fluting (a visual nod to the company’s flame-fluted barrels), an M16-style extractor, a plunger ejector, and an interchangeable bolt handle. Because the FX7 maintains Remington 700 compatibility, it accepts M700-pattern triggers and AICS-pattern detachable magazines—an enormous aftermarket and parts ecosystem available out of the gate.
Spiral-Fluted 16″ Barrel in 22 Creedmoor
416-R stainless steel, button-rifled with a 1:8 twist for high-BC .224 match and hunting bullets, then honed and lapped. Spiral fluting reduces weight and increases surface area for faster heat dissipation during strings of fire. Salt-bath nitrided in black for corrosion and wear resistance. 1/2x28 threaded muzzle with recessed target crown.
TriggerTech Primary Trigger
TriggerTech’s patented Frictionless Release Technology delivers a crisp, predictable break with no creep and a clean reset. The Primary is the company’s drop-in upgrade trigger for Remington 700-footprint actions—a meaningful step up from a factory trigger and the kind of release a precision shooter expects on a long-range rig.
MDT Field Stock in Flat Dark Earth
MDT’s Field Stock pairs a 6061 aluminum bedding core with an overmolded polymer body in Flat Dark Earth. AICS magazine compatible with an integrated magazine latch. Adjustable cheek riser and adjustable length of pull (13.5″–14.5″ via 1/4″ spacers) let you dial the rifle to the shooter. M-LOK forend slots accept bipods, ARCA rails, slings, and accessories. Free-floated barrel for consistency shot to shot.
Polished FX7 Receiver
The 416 stainless action body is polished to a deep, refined finish that sets this exclusive configuration apart from the standard matte FX7. The integral 20-MOA Picatinny rail and integral recoil lug carry through cleanly—no fasteners, no stack-up, no shift.
Why 22 Creedmoor
22 Creedmoor is the 6.5 Creedmoor case necked down to .224 caliber—a SAAMI-standardized cartridge built around high-BC .224 match and hunting bullets driven at velocities a .223 Remington or .22-250 simply can’t reach. The cartridge produces extremely flat trajectories, devastating terminal performance on varmints and predators, and the BC retention to stay supersonic well past where a .223 has fallen off. With a 1:8 twist barrel, the FX7 stabilizes the heavy-for-caliber match bullets that make 22 Creedmoor what it is—a flat-shooting, high-velocity, long-range capable cartridge in a recoil envelope friendly enough for all-day shooting.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is 22 Creedmoor, and how does it compare to .223 Remington or .22-250?
22 Creedmoor is the 6.5 Creedmoor case necked down to .224 caliber. It drives heavy-for-caliber, high-BC .224 match bullets at velocities a .223 Remington can’t reach and with better long-range BC retention than a .22-250. The result is a notably flat trajectory, low recoil for the velocity envelope, and effective range that extends well beyond what a .223 sustains. It’s a strong choice for varmint, predator, and long-range target work.
Why a 1:8 twist for 22 Creedmoor?
A 1:8 twist stabilizes the heavy-for-caliber, high-BC .224 match and hunting bullets that make 22 Creedmoor effective at distance—the same bullet weights that demand 1:7 or 1:8 in a .223. Faster twists also stabilize the longer, heavier bullets that retain velocity and resist wind drift at long range.
What action footprint does the FX7 use?
The FX7 uses a Remington Model 700 short-action footprint. That means it accepts standard M700-pattern triggers and feeds from AICS-pattern detachable magazines. The aftermarket for chassis, bottom metal, scope mounts, and triggers is enormous, and the FX7 plays in it natively.
What does the 70-degree bolt lift give me?
A 70-degree bolt lift is roughly 20 degrees shorter than a conventional 90-degree two-lug action. The shorter rotation means less time per cycle, more clearance beneath a mounted scope (especially with a tall ocular bell), and a smoother, more ergonomic stroke for follow-up shots. The FX7 achieves the shorter lift by using a 6-lug bolt arrangement (two rings of three lugs) rather than the traditional two lugs.
Is the muzzle threaded for a suppressor?
Yes. The 16″ barrel is threaded 1/2x28 at the muzzle and finished with a recessed target crown. 1/2x28 is the standard thread pitch for .224-class suppressors and muzzle devices, so any standard .224 suppressor or brake/flash hider will install with no adapter.
What magazine does the FX7 use, and what else fits?
This rifle ships with a 5-round MDT polymer AICS-pattern magazine. The FX7 feeds from any standard AICS short-action pattern magazine, so higher-capacity AICS mags from MDT, Magpul, Accurate-Mag, and other manufacturers will function—subject to local capacity restrictions. The MDT Field Stock’s magazine well and latch are AICS-pattern.
Can I change the trigger?
Yes. The FX7 accepts any Remington 700-pattern trigger. This rifle ships with a TriggerTech Primary, but you can swap to a TriggerTech Diamond, a Timney, a Jewell, or any other M700-footprint trigger if you have a different preference.
Is the MDT Field Stock adjustable?
Yes. The MDT Field Stock includes an adjustable cheek riser to set your eye behind a scope of any height, and length-of-pull spacers that adjust the LOP from 13.5″ to 14.5″ in 1/4″ increments. The forend is M-LOK compatible for bipods, ARCA rails, slings, and accessories. The barrel channel is free-floated for shot-to-shot consistency.
Where is the FX7 made?
Every FX7 action and barrel is designed and manufactured by Faxon Firearms in Greater Cincinnati, OH, USA. Faxon is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer and federally licensed FFL.
Where can I buy this rifle?
This configuration is a CNC Firearms exclusive and is available through CNC Firearms and its authorized dealer network. Fulfillment is handled through Sports South distribution. It is not stocked in Faxon’s standard FX7 catalog.
Build out your FX7. Standard AICS-pattern magazines, M-LOK accessories, bipods, optics, and .224-class suppressors all install on this rifle without adapters.
