The TriggerTech AR-15 Diamond Single-Stage Flat Trigger (AR0SAB14NNF) is TriggerTech's flagship AR-15 trigger — a precision-engineered, fully adjustable single-stage unit built around three proprietary technologies that collectively eliminate the compromises found in conventional trigger designs. The result is a trigger with zero creep, a sub-0.030" tactical reset, and a pull weight you can dial anywhere from 1.5 to 4.0 lb in 2 oz increments without touching the hammer spring or affecting primer strike reliability.
The core of the Diamond is TriggerTech's TKR (Kinetic Roller) technology — a frictionless rolling interface that replaces the conventional sliding engagement surface between the trigger and sear. Sliding friction is what causes creep and inconsistency in most triggers; by converting that to a rolling contact, TKR eliminates creep entirely and produces a pull that feels glassy clean right up to the break. The break itself is crisp and immediate, with no stacking or staging.
CLKR Technology handles the pull weight adjustment. An internal set screw allows precise, repeatable changes in 2 oz increments — and because CLKR adjusts the engagement geometry rather than the hammer spring tension, the full hammer strike force is maintained at every pull weight setting. You can run a 1.5 lb competition pull with full-force hammer strikes. FLTWR (flat wire spring) technology rounds out the package, providing consistent spring behavior across the entire adjustment range. The housing is machined 7075 aluminum; all internal engagement components are 440C stainless steel with PVD black coating for corrosion resistance and long service life.

TKR stands for TriggerTech's Kinetic Roller — a patented frictionless rolling interface that replaces the sliding contact between the trigger and sear found in conventional trigger designs. In a standard trigger, the sear surfaces slide against each other during the pull, which creates friction. That friction manifests as creep, stacking, and variability in the feel of the break. By replacing the sliding interface with a roller, TKR eliminates that friction entirely. The result is a pull that goes cleanly from start to break with zero creep — it does not stage, does not stack, and does not vary shot to shot.
The Diamond uses CLKR Technology for pull weight adjustment. An internal set screw on the trigger cassette accepts a small hex key and can be turned in precise increments to change the pull weight by 2 oz per click across the 1.5–4.0 lb range. The adjustment does not require removing the trigger from the lower receiver — it can be accessed through the lower's trigger guard opening. Because CLKR adjusts engagement geometry rather than spring tension, the full hammer strike force is maintained regardless of where you set the pull weight.
The Diamond is a self-contained cassette housed in a 7075 aluminum shell. Installation uses your existing lower receiver's standard .154" trigger and hammer pins — you push the pins out, set the cassette in place, and push the pins back through. It is faster and simpler than installing a traditional trigger group. No additional tools are needed beyond what is required to punch the existing pins out. The cassette's housing holds all components in place, so there are no loose springs or small parts to manage during installation.
Reset distance is how far the trigger must travel forward after firing before it re-engages and is ready to fire again. A standard mil-spec trigger has a reset measured in fractions of an inch that still requires noticeable forward trigger movement. The Diamond's sub-0.030" reset is roughly the thickness of a credit card — barely perceptible. In practice, this means your finger barely needs to move between shots. For fast follow-up fire and competition stages, shorter resets translate directly into faster splits and less disruption to your grip and sight picture between rounds.
For most defensive applications, yes — 1.5 lb is competition territory and is generally considered too light for a home defense or duty rifle. TriggerTech recommends running the Diamond in the 3.0–4.0 lb range for defensive use. The Diamond's CLKR adjustment makes this straightforward: run the lightest setting at the range or in competition, then dial up to 3.5 lb or 4.0 lb when the rifle is staged for home defense. The adjustment takes about 30 seconds and does not require removing the trigger from the lower.
Both are premium AR-15 triggers from respected manufacturers, but they approach the problem differently. The SSA-E is a traditional two-stage trigger — it has a defined first stage take-up, a wall, and a crisp second stage break. 440C is a high-chromium martensitic stainless steel known for having one of the highest hardness ratings of any stainless alloy — typically in the 58–60 Rockwell C range when heat treated. For trigger engagement surfaces, hardness is critical because the sear faces must maintain their precise geometry through tens of thousands of cycles without deforming or wearing. 440C provides that hardness while also offering better corrosion resistance than standard tool steel, which matters for a trigger cassette that lives inside a lower receiver and is exposed to handling oils, sweat, and environmental moisture. The PVD black coating adds a further layer of corrosion and wear protection on top of the stainless base material.
