Developed in partnership with Q, the Faxon RemAge® 16" 8.6 Blackout barrel is purpose-built to harness the extreme ballistic characteristics of the 8.6 BLK cartridge. The aggressive 1:3 twist rate is required to stabilize long, heavy projectiles and maximize rotational energy, especially in suppressed and subsonic configurations.
Machined from 416-R stainless steel at Faxon’s Cincinnati facility, each barrel is fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, magnetic particle inspected, and finished with a durable QPQ salt bath nitride treatment inside and out. An 11° target crown ensures consistent accuracy shot-to-shot.

Is 8.6 Blackout SAAMI certified?
No. At the time of release, 8.6 Blackout is not SAAMI certified. Use appropriate caution when firing and when using reloaded ammunition.
Why does 8.6 BLK require a 1:3 twist?
The fast 1:3 twist is required to stabilize long, heavy 8.6 BLK projectiles and maximize rotational energy for improved terminal performance.
Can semi-auto ammunition be used in bolt actions?
Ammunition intended for semi-auto rifles may use harder primers, which can result in light primer strikes when fired from bolt-action rifles.

Nice barrel
I have been debating about building a quiet large caliber rifle for a while. This was the catalyst that made me jump in. I put this barrel on a blueprinted Rem Seven action and it creates a great compact hard hitting rifle. The machining and finish look great and I had no issues installing to the proper headspace. I can't wait to develop both super and sub loads for this new toy.

Barrel looks to very well machined. Clean threads and nice finish. Shipping was quick. Some day I’ll find some ammo and/or reloading components and actually be able to fire rounds through it. I also bought the Go & No Go gauges. Mounted barrel on a a Mac Bros Evo 2.
