Compatibility Notice: This barrel is NOT compatible with Faxon FX7 bolt action receivers. Compatible with Savage® 110 and Savage® Small Shank receivers only.  Please note, the Savage® 110 PCS uses a Large Shank pattern barrel and is not compatible with this barrel.

The Faxon barrel for Savage® 110 16" 8.6 Blackout is engineered to unlock the full ballistic potential of one of the most innovative modern cartridges. Featuring an aggressive 1:3 twist rate, this barrel maximizes rotational energy for enhanced terminal performance, particularly with heavy subsonic projectiles.

Machined from 416-R stainless steel at Faxon’s Cincinnati facility, each barrel is fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, magnetic particle inspected, and finished in salt bath nitride inside and out for durability, corrosion resistance, and ease of maintenance.

No. At the time of release, 8.6 Blackout is not SAAMI certified. Use caution when firing and when using reloaded ammunition.
Why does this barrel use a 1:3 twist?
The 1:3 twist rate is required to stabilize long, heavy 8.6 BLK projectiles and maximize rotational energy for improved terminal performance.
Will semi-auto ammunition work in bolt actions?
Ammunition designed for semi-auto rifles may use harder primers, which can cause light primer strikes in bolt action rifles.
