Faxon Match Series — 16" Flame Fluted® .223 Wylde AR-15 Barrel (Mid-Length Gas)

416R Stainless • 5R Rifling • Flame Fluted® Profile • Nickel Teflon M4 Extension • Nitride Inside & Out

The Faxon Match Series 16" Flame Fluted® .223 Wylde blends eye-catching style with match-grade performance. The Flame Fluted® profile trims forward weight, increases cooling surface area, and adds rigidity to help maintain group consistency during long strings of fire.

Built from 416R stainless steel with 5R button rifling (1:8 twist) and salt bath nitrided inside & out, this barrel resists wear and corrosion while cleaning easily. Each Faxon Match barrel is stress relieved, air-gauge tested, MPI-inspected, and headspace verified. A Nickel Teflon–coated M4 extension enhances lubricity and tightens fit to the receiver for improved consistency.

    Perfection

This is the barrel I use in my competition AR. It is paired with a Superlative Titanium Gas Block. I use a 4x Acog for an optic, and have sub MOA at 100 yards. Very consistent and loves the 69 Grain SMK bullet. Have shot well over 1,000 rounds through it so far, no issues what-so-ever. Faxon is my go-to barrel manufacturer.

16" Flame Fluted - Great Look, OK Machining

Posted by Brandon on Mar 11th 2019

First off, this is a beautiful barrel. The weight is good considering its match grade and the finish and fluting look awesome. My only complaint so far is that the gas port isn't top dead center and as such my gas block is slightly rotated. I've heard one other buyer complain about this issue as well, and although it probably wont affect the function of the barrel, it's also not something I would have expected at this price point. I havent had a chance to shoot it yet but will update if the barrel doesn't perform well.
