The two models share the same core platform: identical CRS reticle system, 1.1 by 0.87 inch window, 7075-T6 aluminum housing, Shake Awake, 50,000-hour CR1632 battery life, RMR/507C footprint, and limited lifetime warranty. The differences are reticle color, series designation, and price. The red HS507COMP uses a red LED reticle and carries the HS (standard) designation at $369.99. The green HE507COMP-GR uses a green LED reticle and carries the HE designation at $399.99. Unlike the HE508T platform where the green reticle loses NV compatibility, both 507COMP variants are night vision compatible — so NV use is not a deciding factor between the two. The choice between red and green on the 507COMP comes down to reticle color preference and the $30 price difference. Shooters who prioritize maximum daylight visibility often prefer green; shooters who want NV compatibility at the lower price point, or who simply prefer the look and feel of a red dot, will be well served by this model.

MRS (Multiple Reticle System) cycles through three fixed preset configurations: dot only, circle only, or circle-dot. The shooter picks one of three options. CRS (Competition Reticle System) treats the reticle as four independent elements — the 2 MOA center dot, an 8 MOA ring, a 20 MOA ring, and a 32 MOA ring — each of which can be switched on or off independently. The shooter configures any combination they want, and the optic stores that configuration until changed. This produces a far wider range of usable reticle setups than MRS and includes configurations MRS cannot produce, such as the 2 MOA dot paired only with the inner 8 MOA ring, or the 20 and 32 MOA rings together without a center dot. All configurations share the same zero point, so switching between setups does not require re-zeroing.

Shake Awake detects motion through an internal sensor and activates the reticle when the pistol is picked up or drawn. When the firearm sits idle for a set period, the optic enters a low-power sleep state. On a draw, the motion wakes the optic before the shooter has completed the presentation to target — response time is fast enough that the dot is active by the time the shooter reaches full extension. For competition use, this means the optic is reliably active on every stage without requiring the shooter to manually switch it on. Battery life in practice is significantly longer than the 50,000-hour rated figure because the optic only runs fully active when in use; the sleep state draws negligible power.

The 507COMP uses the same mounting footprint as the standard Holosun 507C and Trijicon RMR, so it mounts on any slide cut for those optics. Holster fit is a separate question. The 507COMP’s larger window means its body is physically wider than the standard 507C, and holsters designed around the 507C body profile may not clear the 507COMP’s wider housing. Before purchasing a holster, confirm with the manufacturer that their 507C-compatible model is also rated for the 507COMP. Most major competition holster makers produce 507COMP-specific fits. Do not assume a standard 507C holster fits without checking.

The HS507COMP uses a CR1632 3V lithium coin cell battery — not the CR2032 used in Trijicon RMR optics and many others. The CR1632 is thinner than the CR2032 and is not interchangeable with it. It is widely available at electronics retailers and hardware stores. The battery is accessed via a side-loading tray that slides out without removing the optic from the slide, so battery changes do not disturb zero. Confirm you are purchasing CR1632 specifically when buying replacement batteries.
