Shake Awake handles when the optic activates and when it sleeps. Memory Mode handles what it does when it activates — specifically, which brightness setting it returns to. Without Memory Mode, waking an optic typically brings it to a fixed default brightness or the lowest setting, requiring the shooter to manually cycle to their preferred level. Both share the large 1.1 by 0.87 inch viewing window and the RMR-pattern footprint. The 407COMP (this optic) displays a single 6 MOA dot — one reticle, always on. The HS407COMP-RD-6 uses a CR1632 3V lithium coin cell. This is not the same as the CR2032 found in Trijicon RMR optics and many other pistol dots. The two look similar but differ in size and are not interchangeable. CR1632 batteries are widely available at electronics and hardware retailers. The side-loading tray allows replacement without removing the optic from the slide or losing zero. Memory Mode retains the brightness setting through a battery swap so no readjustment is needed after changing the cell.
