Shipping & returns — Trusted Distribution Partner items
When will my order ship?

Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.

Will tracking come from Faxon?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.

Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.

How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”

Is this product authentic and covered by warranty?

Yes. All Trusted Distribution Partner products are sourced from authorized distributors and are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Faxon stands behind every product sold on faxonfirearms.com.

Holosun HS407COMP-GD-6 gold 6 MOA dot competition pistol sight 407COMP big window 1.1x0.87 RMR footprint NV compatible IP67 Shake Awake open emitter Holosun — Optics & Sights

HOLOSUN HS407COMP-GD-6 — GOLD 6 MOA DOT COMPETITION PISTOL SIGHT

6 MOA Gold Dot Big Window 1.1" × 0.87" 4 NV Settings IP67 / 5,000G Memory Mode Lockout Mode RMR Footprint

The Holosun HS407COMP-GD-6 puts a bold 6 MOA gold dot in the 407COMP’s wide 1.1 by 0.87 inch viewing window on the RMR-pattern footprint. Built for speed-focused competition, the 407COMP platform’s oversized window keeps the dot visible at the edges of the shooter’s field of view through recoil and aggressive transitions, reducing time spent hunting for the reticle between shots. The 6 MOA dot is the fastest-acquiring size for close-range speed work — large enough to land immediately in the shooter’s vision, without the precision search that smaller dots require in fast-paced stages.

The gold LED delivers a high-contrast aiming point that stands out against complex target backgrounds and bright lighting conditions where red dots can wash out or blend with warm-colored target materials. Gold is also accessible to shooters with red-green color vision deficiency who may have difficulty tracking a standard red dot under varying light conditions. Eight daylight and four night-vision compatible brightness settings adapt the reticle across all environments. Memory Mode retains the last-used brightness setting between power cycles, and Lockout Mode prevents accidental brightness changes during holster use. Shake Awake activates the dot at first motion and returns to sleep during idle, with the CR1632 battery providing 50,000-plus hours of rated life from the side-loading tray.

The COMP suffix on both platforms means the same thing: the large-window competition housing. The 407COMP has all the same window and footprint advantages as the 507COMP at a lower price point. The 507COMP adds CRS for shooters who want configurable circle-dot options; the 407COMP delivers a single optimized dot for shooters who want nothing but speed from a fixed reticle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the gold reticle look like, and why choose it over red?

The gold dot appears as a warm amber-gold aiming point in the window. It sits in a different part of the visible spectrum than a standard red reticle, which gives it a distinct visual signature against target backgrounds that can absorb or blend with red wavelengths — particularly bright white targets, tan cardboard, or high-contrast outdoor backgrounds in direct sunlight. In those conditions, a red dot can appear to wash out or lose definition against the target surface. The gold dot maintains its visual distinctness because it does not compete with the same warm tones in the target. For shooters with red-green color vision deficiency, a gold dot is often significantly easier to track than a red dot across varying lighting conditions. For shooters with normal color vision, the choice between gold and red comes down to personal preference and the specific lighting conditions of your ranges and courses.

What is the difference between the 407COMP and the 507COMP?

Both platforms share the same large 1.1 by 0.87 inch viewing window and the same RMR-pattern mounting footprint. The difference is the reticle system. The 407COMP is a single-dot optic — it shows one reticle only, in this case the 6 MOA gold dot. The 507COMP features the Competition Reticle System, which provides four independently configurable elements: a 2 MOA center dot, an 8 MOA ring, a 20 MOA ring, and a 32 MOA ring. Any combination of those elements can be switched on or off, and all combinations share the same zero. The 407COMP is the cleaner, simpler competition choice for a shooter who wants a single optimized dot with no configuration decisions between stages. The 507COMP is for shooters who want reticle flexibility and are willing to manage the added complexity in exchange for it. The 407COMP also comes in at a lower price point: $279.99 versus $369.99–$399.99 for the 507COMP.

What are Memory Mode and Lockout Mode?

Memory Mode means the optic stores the last-used brightness setting in non-volatile memory. When Shake Awake wakes the dot or the optic is manually powered on, it returns to the exact brightness it was last set to rather than starting at a default level. For competition use, this means setting your preferred daylight brightness before a match and having it present at the start of each stage without adjustment. For carry use, it means the dot is always at your last deliberate setting when drawn. Lockout Mode freezes the brightness setting so that button presses do not cycle through levels. This prevents holster draw, reholster, or gear contact from inadvertently changing the reticle brightness. To change the setting, unlock first, adjust, then re-engage Lockout Mode. Used together, the two modes give the shooter a fixed, protected brightness configuration for a specific use case.

Is 6 MOA too large for anything other than close-range work?

At 6 MOA, the dot subtends 6 inches at 100 yards — which is large relative to precision work but irrelevant for the distances where competition pistol shooting happens. At 7 yards, a 6 MOA dot subtends about 0.42 inches; at 15 yards, about 0.9 inches. At those distances, a 6 MOA dot is entirely inside the A-zone of a standard IPSC target, and the speed advantage of instantly landing a large dot in your vision is worth far more than the precision loss compared to a 2 MOA dot. The Trijicon SRO 5 MOA is widely used by USPSA Grand Masters and Production-class shooters for the same reason. If you are shooting primarily at 15 yards and in with a competition focus, 6 MOA is a defensible choice. If you are also using this optic for precision work at 25–50 yards, a 2 MOA dot is the better fit.

Does this holster-fit like a standard 407C or 507C?

The 407COMP uses the same RMR-pattern mounting footprint as the standard 407C and 507C, so it seats on any slide cut for those optics. The 407COMP’s competition housing is wider than the standard 407C body — the same situation as the 507COMP — so holsters designed around the standard 507C or 407C body profile may not clear the COMP housing. Verify with your holster manufacturer that their 407C or 507C fit accommodates the wider COMP housing before ordering. Most major competition holster makers produce 407COMP or 507COMP-compatible versions.

What battery does this use?

The HS407COMP-GD-6 uses a CR1632 3V lithium coin cell, not the CR2032 used in Trijicon RMR optics and many other pistol dots. They are similar in diameter and appearance but not the same size and not interchangeable. CR1632 batteries are widely available at electronics and hardware retailers. The side-loading tray allows replacement without removing the optic from the slide, and the Memory Mode retains the brightness setting through a battery swap so there is no need to re-configure after replacing the cell.
