The Faxon Patented Adjustable .750" 3-Screw Low Profile Gas Block lets you precisely tune cycling between subsonic and supersonic ammunition, suppressed and unsuppressed—a critical capability for any serious .338 ARC platform. .338 ARC was engineered to deliver heavy-projectile performance from short AR15 barrels, where it produces excellent terminal energy without the size, weight, or bolt face requirements of an AR10. An 11.5" barrel is at the sweet spot for the cartridge—long enough to extract meaningful velocity from full-power loads, short enough to keep the platform compact and maneuverable for hunting, suppressed work, or pack carry.

Why a 1:5 twist barrel?▾

1:5 is the aggressive twist rate purpose-built to stabilize heavy .338 ARC subsonic projectiles—the loads most commonly used with suppressors. It also stabilizes lighter supersonic hunting ammunition without issue, making it the most versatile twist rate for a dedicated dual-use platform.

Is this pistol suppressor-ready?▾

Yes—this build is engineered around suppressor use. The 1:5 twist barrel, adjustable gas block (for tuning sub/super and suppressed/unsuppressed cycling), and MuzzLok® Plan B compatible flash hider all work together. Plan B → HUB adapters allow direct integration with HUB-compatible suppressors. Always validate cycling with your specific suppressor and ammunition combination.

This pistol ships with a DuraMag® 400 Legend 10-round magazine. .338 ARC's overall cartridge dimensions are magazine-compatible with the 400 Legend pattern, allowing reliable feeding from a standard AR15 magazine well.

How does the SBA3 + Sylvan Arms folding adapter setup work?▾

The SB Tactical SBA3 provides an adjustable brace for stable, repeatable shouldering, while the Sylvan Arms folding adapter installs between the lower receiver and the buffer tube/brace assembly to allow the brace to fold to the side. The result is a dramatically more compact stowed footprint for transport, storage, or pack-in hunts. The firearm cannot be fired while the brace is folded—deploy to the extended position before use.
