When will my order ship?
Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.
Will tracking come from Faxon?
Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.
Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?
No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.
How do returns work for partner-shipped items?
Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.
To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”
Is this product authentic and covered by warranty?
Yes. All Trusted Distribution Partner products are sourced from authorized distributors and are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Faxon stands behind every product sold on faxonfirearms.com.
MAGPUL PRO 700 FIXED STOCK CHASSIS — REMINGTON 700 SHORT ACTION / BLACK / MAG997BLK
The Magpul Pro 700 Fixed Stock (MAG997BLK) delivers the full Pro 700 precision chassis platform in a fixed stock configuration at a more competitive price than the folding variant. Every core feature carries over: the Type III hard anodized machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum V-bedding block, fully adjustable LOP, comb height, butt pad height and cant, grip trigger reach, integrated AICS pattern magazine well, 21 M-LOK slots, and ambidextrous action compatibility. What it omits is the folding hinge — and for shooters who do not need or want a folding capability, the fixed stock format offers the same precision foundation with a simpler, cleaner chassis at $854.95.
The chassis is fully ambidextrous via the same swappable bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate found on the folding model, reconfigured with a 1/8" hex wrench. The integrated AICS magazine well accepts PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC short action magazines and most other AICS-pattern SA magazines, with an anti-snag Melonite steel ambidextrous release and a barricade stop. Two grips are included in the box — standard and aggressive sweep — and three built-in QD sling swivel mounts handle sling attachment. The chassis is compatible with the Magpul Pro NVM Night Vision Mount for clip-on NV and thermal solutions, sold separately. Made in the USA.
The Pro 700’s V-bedding block is machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum with a Type III hard anodize finish. The V-geometry contacts the barreled action along consistent, repeatable surfaces, eliminating the pressure variations and flex of a factory wood or polymer stock that shift point of impact. The action screws thread into the same machined aluminum assembly every time the rifle is reassembled. The two included 1/4-28x1/2" socket head cap action screws are machined to match the bedding block’s tolerances.
The MAG997BLK uses a fixed stock rather than the push-button folding hinge of the MAG802BLK. For shooters who operate in jurisdictions where folding stocks are restricted, who prefer the simpler mechanism, or who have no need to fold their rifle for transport, the fixed stock eliminates one mechanical system from the chassis entirely. The result is the same rigid, adjustable precision platform without the hinge — and at $95 less than the folding model, the fixed stock is the value choice when folding capability is not a requirement.
The Pro 700’s integrated AICS well is optimized for Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC short action magazines and accepts most other AICS-pattern short action magazines. The low-profile ambidextrous magazine release is stamped from steel with a Melonite finish for anti-snag geometry and corrosion resistance. The barricade stop at the front of the magazine well provides a hard reference surface when the rifle is braced against a support, preventing forward pressure from transmitting to the magazine and disrupting lockup.
The Pro 700 Fixed accommodates both right and left-hand actions without requiring separate SKUs. The bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate swap using a 1/8" hex wrench to configure for the correct hand action. The comb/cheek riser is reversible for left or right side positioning. The magazine release is ambidextrous by design. An ambidextrous thumb shelf provides firing hand thumb placement for both shooters. Unlike the folding model, there is no hinge to reverse — configuration requires only the bedding block swap.

Full Adjustability — Six Points of Fit
Tool-free length-of-pull adjustment knob provides a 1.875" total range. Dialed without tools for quick adjustment across shooter sizes, body armor setups, or layered clothing.
Cheek riser adjusts up to 1" in height to align the shooter’s eye to the scope centerline. Secondary locking knob eliminates unwanted movement. Three fore/aft positions (+.375", 0", -.375").
Anti-slip rubber butt pad adjusts vertically to control recoil axis alignment in the shoulder pocket for consistent face-to-scope contact shot to shot.
Butt pad adjusts left or right by 5 degrees to match the natural angle of the shooter’s shoulder pocket, improving stability and reducing slippage under recoil.
Pistol grip adjusts fore and aft by 0.75" to customize the distance from the trigger face. Critical for consistent single-stage trigger break regardless of glove thickness or hand size.
Standard grip: 5-degree forward / 7-degree aft sweep with enlarged palm swell. Aggressive grip: 8-degree forward / 20-degree aft sweep. Both in the box.

The Pro 700 accepts all factory Remington 700 barrel profiles and aftermarket barrels up to MTU (Medium Tactical/Utility) profile — one of the most common aftermarket precision barrel contours. Heavier profiles beyond MTU may not fit the forend clearance. Verify your barrel contour before purchasing if running a non-standard heavy contour. Factory Remington barrels in all standard contours are confirmed fit.
Unlike the folding MAG802BLK which requires three steps (bolt plate, QD plate, and hinge direction), the fixed MAG997BLK ambi conversion is a single step: swap the bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate using a 1/8" hex wrench. The comb/cheek riser repositions without tools. The magazine release is ambidextrous with no modification required. The 1/8" hex wrench is not included but is a standard size available at any hardware source.
Magpul Pro 700 Fixed chassis assembled in black, standard grip, additional aggressive-sweep grip, two 1/4-28x1/2" socket head cap action screws. The Magpul Pro NVM Night Vision Mount is sold separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the MAG997BLK and MAG802BLK?
The MAG997BLK is the fixed stock version of the Pro 700; the MAG802BLK is the folding stock version. Both use the same 6061-T6 aluminum V-bedding block, the same AICS magazine well, the same 21 M-LOK slot layout, and the same six-point adjustability. The MAG997BLK omits the push-button folding hinge — the stock is fixed in position at all times. This eliminates one mechanical component, simplifies the ambi conversion process (one swap instead of three steps), and reduces the price by $95. If you have no need to fold your rifle for transport or storage and there are no jurisdictional folding stock restrictions in play, the MAG997BLK delivers the same precision chassis functionality for less.
Will the Pro 700 Fixed fit my Remington 700 long action?
No — the MAG997BLK is specifically designed for Remington 700 short action receivers only. Short action receivers accommodate cartridges typically up to approximately 2.87" overall length (e.g., .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester). For long action calibers such as .300 Win Mag or .30-06, verify your receiver length and consult Magpul’s lineup for the appropriate configuration before purchasing.
What magazines does the AICS mag well accept?
The Pro 700’s integrated AICS magazine well is optimized for the Magpul PMAG 5 7.62 AC and PMAG 10 7.62 AC short action magazines. It also accepts most other AICS-pattern short action magazines from major manufacturers who build to the AICS standard. AICS long action magazines will not fit the short action well.
Can I add a folding capability later?
The MAG997BLK is the fixed stock chassis and is not designed to be converted to a folding stock by swapping in a hinge. The folding hinge is an integral part of the MAG802BLK chassis, not a bolt-on accessory. If folding capability is a future requirement, the MAG802BLK folding stock version is the appropriate purchase. There is no Magpul-approved field conversion from fixed to folding on the Pro 700 platform.
Is the Pro 700 Fixed legal in all states?
The MAG997BLK is a fixed stock chassis for bolt-action rifles. Fixed stock configurations are generally not subject to the folding stock provisions of state assault weapon laws, which typically apply to semi-automatic rifles. However, other features — such as the AICS detachable magazine well — may be subject to state-specific regulations. You are responsible for verifying compliance with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction before purchasing and using this product.
What night vision or thermal devices are compatible?
The Pro 700 Fixed is compatible with the Magpul Pro NVM (Night Vision Mount), providing an inline rail for clip-on night vision and thermal imaging devices forward of the primary optic. The Pro NVM is sold separately. M-LOK slots on the forend also accept compatible NV and thermal mounting accessories. Consult Magpul’s compatibility documentation for the Pro NVM when selecting a clip-on NV or thermal unit.
