When will my order ship?
Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.
Will tracking come from Faxon?
Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.
Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?
No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.
How do returns work for partner-shipped items?
Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

MAGPUL PRO 700 FOLDING STOCK CHASSIS — REMINGTON 700 SHORT ACTION / FLAT DARK EARTH / MAG802FDE
The Magpul Pro 700 Folding Stock (MAG802FDE) is the Flat Dark Earth variant of Magpul’s complete precision chassis system for Remington 700 short action rifles. Specification-for-specification identical to the black MAG802BLK, the FDE finish delivers the same fully adjustable, AICS-compatible precision platform in a flat dark earth color suited to arid environments, desert terrain, and shooters who prefer a coordinated FDE build aesthetic. The chassis centers on a Type III hard anodized machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum V-bedding block, forend, and adjustment hardware, surrounded by FDE-finished injection molded polymer body covers.
The folding stock uses a push-button activated Melonite-treated steel hinge that locks rigidly when deployed and folds clear of the bolt handle for compact transport. The chassis is fully ambidextrous: the bolt retainer plate, QD sling swivel plate, and folding hinge are all reversible with basic hex tools. The integrated AICS pattern magazine well accepts PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC magazines and most other AICS-pattern short action magazines, with an anti-snag Melonite steel ambidextrous release and barricade stop. 21 M-LOK slots and three built-in QD sling swivel mounts handle accessories and sling attachment. Two grips are included — standard and aggressive sweep — and the chassis is compatible with the Magpul Pro NVM Night Vision Mount sold separately.
The Pro 700’s V-bedding block is machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum with a Type III hard anodize finish. The V-geometry contacts the barreled action along consistent, repeatable surfaces rather than the irregular surface contact of a factory wood or polymer stock. This eliminates pressure variations that shift point of impact as a stock flexes, absorbs moisture, or changes temperature. The action screws thread into the same machined aluminum assembly every time the rifle is reassembled, maintaining consistent bedding geometry. The two included 1/4-28x1/2" socket head cap action screws are machined to match the bedding block’s tolerances.
The push-button folding hinge is constructed of Melonite-treated steel for corrosion resistance and durability at a point that takes direct mechanical stress when the rifle is fired. When deployed, the hinge locks solidly into position with no detected movement — the firing position is as stable as a fixed stock. The hinge is engineered to clear the bolt handle when folded and is compatible with a wide variety of aftermarket bolt knobs. Folding direction is reversible (left or right) using a 5/32" hex wrench. For applications where a folding stock is unwanted, Magpul’s fixed stock adapter MAG998 is available separately.
The Pro 700’s integrated AICS well is optimized for Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC short action magazines and accepts most other AICS-pattern short action magazines. The low-profile ambidextrous magazine release is stamped from steel with a Melonite finish for anti-snag geometry and corrosion resistance. The barricade stop at the front of the magazine well provides a hard reference surface when the rifle is braced against a support, preventing forward pressure from transmitting to the magazine and disrupting lockup.
The Pro 700 is engineered for both right and left-hand actions without requiring separate SKUs. The bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate swap using a 1/8" hex wrench. The folding hinge direction reverses with a 5/32" hex wrench. The comb/cheek riser is reversible for left or right side positioning. The magazine release is ambidextrous by design. An ambidextrous thumb shelf on the pistol grip area accommodates both shooters. Two hex wrenches and a few minutes are all that is required to reconfigure from right to left-hand platform.
Full Adjustability — Six Points of Fit
Tool-free length-of-pull adjustment knob provides a 1.875" total range. Dialed in without tools for quick field adjustments across shooter sizes, body armor setups, or layered clothing in cold weather.
Cheek riser adjusts up to 1" in height to match the shooter’s eye to the scope centerline. A secondary locking knob locks the riser against movement once set. Three fore/aft positions (+.375", 0", -.375") allow additional fine-tuning of cheek contact point.
Anti-slip rubber butt pad adjusts vertically to control recoil axis alignment in the shoulder pocket. Combined with comb height, the pad and riser work together to achieve consistent face-to-scope alignment shot to shot.
The butt pad also adjusts left or right by 5 degrees to match the natural angle of the shooter’s shoulder pocket, improving stability and reducing slippage under recoil.
The pistol grip body adjusts fore and aft by 0.75" to customize the distance from the trigger face to the grip. Critical for single-stage trigger break consistency, especially with varying glove thickness or hand sizes.
Standard grip: 5-degree forward / 7-degree aft edge sweep with enlarged palm swell. Aggressive grip: 8-degree forward / 20-degree aft edge sweep. Both ship in the box — select the geometry that best supports your natural hand position and trigger finger contact.
M-LOK Slot Breakdown — 21 Total
M-LOK-compatible bipods, lights, foregrips, and rails attach directly to the forend. The two bottom slots on the stock accept M-LOK-compatible sling mounts and hardware. Additional sling mounting is provided by the three integrated QD sling swivel points.

The Pro 700 accepts all factory Remington 700 barrel profiles and aftermarket barrels up to MTU (Medium Tactical/Utility) profile. MTU is one of the most common aftermarket precision barrel contours. Heavier profiles beyond MTU — such as some Palma, M24, or heavy varmint profiles — may not fit the forend clearance. Verify your barrel contour against MTU specifications before purchasing if running a non-standard profile. Factory Remington barrels in all standard contours are confirmed fit.
Converting the Pro 700 between right and left-hand configuration requires two hex wrenches: a 1/8" hex for swapping the bolt retainer plate and QD sling swivel plate, and a 5/32" hex for reversing the folding hinge direction. These tools are not included in the box — they are standard hex wrenches. The comb/cheek riser repositions to the left side without tools. The magazine release is ambidextrous with no modification required.
Magpul Pro 700 chassis assembled in Flat Dark Earth, standard grip, additional aggressive-sweep grip, two 1/4-28x1/2" socket head cap action screws. The Magpul Pro NVM Night Vision Mount and MAG998 fixed stock adapter are sold separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the Pro 700 fit my Remington 700 long action?
No — the MAG802FDE is specifically designed for Remington 700 short action receivers only. Magpul offers separate Pro 700 configurations for long action rifles. Short action receivers accommodate cartridges typically up to approximately 2.87" overall length (e.g., .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, and most standard short action precision cartridges). If you are running a Remington 700 in a long action caliber such as .300 Win Mag or .30-06, this chassis will not fit — verify your receiver length before purchasing.
Can I use this chassis without the folding feature?
The MAG802FDE is the folding stock version. If you prefer a fixed stock configuration — whether for regulatory reasons, personal preference, or added simplicity — Magpul offers the MAG998 fixed stock adapter, sold separately. The MAG998 installs in place of the folding hinge assembly to convert the Pro 700 to a fixed-stock platform using the same chassis body.
What magazines does the AICS mag well accept?
The Pro 700’s integrated AICS magazine well is optimized for the Magpul PMAG 5 7.62 AC and PMAG 10 7.62 AC short action magazines. It also accepts most other AICS-pattern short action magazines from major manufacturers who build to the AICS standard. The AICS pattern is the dominant interchangeable magazine system in the bolt-action precision rifle market, so compatibility with quality AICS SA magazines is broad. Note that the chassis is sized for short action cartridges — AICS long action magazines will not fit.
How does the Pro 700 differ from a standard factory Remington 700 stock?
A factory Remington 700 stock is typically a one-piece polymer or wood design with fixed geometry and point contact bedding of the action. The Pro 700 chassis provides a machined aluminum V-bedding block that contacts the action along precise, repeatable surfaces rather than the variable contact of a factory stock. Beyond bedding, the Pro 700 provides six points of ergonomic adjustment, AICS detachable magazine capability, 21 M-LOK accessory slots, a folding stock for transport, and ambidextrous configuration — none of which are available in a factory Remington 700 stock without aftermarket modification.
Is the Pro 700 legal in my state with the folding stock feature?
The Magpul Pro 700 is designed for use on bolt-action rifles, which are generally not subject to the same folding stock regulations that apply to semi-automatic rifles in states with assault weapon restrictions. However, state and local laws vary, and you are responsible for verifying compliance with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction before purchasing and using this product. Consult a local attorney or law enforcement agency if you have specific questions about legality in your state.
What night vision or thermal devices are compatible?
The Pro 700 is compatible with the Magpul Pro NVM (Night Vision Mount), which provides an inline rail mount for clip-on night vision and thermal imaging devices forward of the primary optic. The Pro NVM is sold separately. The M-LOK slots on the forend also accept compatible NV and thermal mounting accessories from various manufacturers. Specific device compatibility depends on the NVM or mount used — consult Magpul’s compatibility documentation for the Pro NVM when selecting a clip-on NV or thermal unit.
