Shipping & returns — Trusted Distribution Partner items
When will my order ship?

Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.

Will tracking come from Faxon?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.

Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?

No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.

How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

Returns for Trusted Distribution Partner items are handled by Faxon Customer Service rather than through our standard self-service portal, so we can coordinate the return with our partner on your behalf.

To start a return, contact us at customerservice@faxonfirearms.com or submit a request through our support form and select “Refund / Return.”

Is this product authentic and covered by warranty?

Yes. All Trusted Distribution Partner products are sourced from authorized distributors and are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. Faxon stands behind every product sold on faxonfirearms.com.

Magpul Hunter 700 stock MAG483BLK Remington 700 short action black cast aluminum V-bedding block free-float 0.920 barrel 8 M-LOK slots LOP 13-15 inch right hand hunting precision stock made in USA Magpul — Rifle Stocks & Accessories

MAGPUL HUNTER 700 STOCK — REMINGTON 700 SHORT ACTION / BLACK / MAG483BLK

Remington 700 SA Right-Hand V-Bedding Block Free-Float Barrel 8 M-LOK Slots Drop-In Fit Made in USA

The Magpul Hunter 700 Stock (MAG483BLK) is a drop-in precision upgrade for right-hand Remington 700 short action rifles, delivering a cast aluminum V-bedding block, free-floating barrel channel, and modern ergonomic features in a traditional hunting stock form factor at $256.45. Where the Pro 700 chassis targets the precision competition and tactical market with machined billet aluminum and full chassis adjustability, the Hunter 700 targets the hunting and field shooting market: a rugged polymer shell reinforced with a Type III hard anodized A380 cast aluminum V-bedding block that provides repeatable action support and eliminates the flex and inconsistency of a factory polymer stock, at a fraction of the chassis price.

The tapered beam forend free-floats compatible Remington factory barrels and aftermarket barrels up to 0.920" in diameter, ensuring the barrel is not contacting the forend and generating inconsistent pressure across different shooting positions. LOP adjusts from 13" to 15" via included 0.50" spacers, and the stock ships with a 0.25" cheek riser installed, with additional riser heights available separately. Eight M-LOK slots on the forend provide accessory and sling mounting options, and the stock is field-upgradeable to AICS-pattern detachable magazines with the separately available Magpul Bolt Action Magazine Well 700. Made in the USA.

Hunter 700 MAG483BLK: Precision Bedding at a Hunting Price
V-Bedding Block — Cast Aluminum Upgrade

The Hunter 700’s V-bedding block is cast from A380 aluminum with a Type III hard anodize and machine-finish treatment. Cast aluminum costs less than machined billet to produce, making it the right engineering choice for a $256 stock without sacrificing the fundamental benefit: a repeatable, hard aluminum contact surface that supports the Remington 700 action the same way every time the rifle is assembled. This is a significant improvement over the factory Remington 700 stock, which uses polymer-to-action contact that varies with temperature and assembly torque. At this price point, it punches well above its weight.

Free-Float Barrel Channel — Up to 0.920”

The tapered beam forend design free-floats the barrel, meaning no part of the forend contacts the barrel after the action is bedded. The channel clears compatible Remington factory barrels and aftermarket barrels up to 0.920" in diameter — a profile that covers most hunting and lightweight precision aftermarket options. Preventing forend-to-barrel contact eliminates pressure variations that change where the rifle shoots as a sling tightens, a bipod loads the forend, or the shooter’s hand position changes. Free-floating is one of the highest-return accuracy improvements available for a bolt-action rifle.

LOP via Spacer System

The Hunter 700 uses an included spacer pack to set LOP between 13.0" and 15.0" in 0.50" increments. Spacers stack between the stock body and the butt-pad to extend LOP, or are removed to shorten it. This is a field-proven adjustment system that is inherently rigid once set — there are no adjustment knobs to loosen under recoil. The included spacers cover the full 13"–15" range; additional spacers are available separately from Magpul if a non-standard configuration is needed.

AICS Mag Well Upgrade Path

The Hunter 700 ships using a factory-style internal magazine, but the stock is designed to accept the Magpul Bolt Action Magazine Well 700 (sold separately) for conversion to AICS-pattern detachable magazines. This upgrade is described as easy-to-install and enables the use of Magpul PMAG 5 7.62 AC and compatible AICS-pattern short action magazines. For hunters who want to start with a cost-effective stock and add detachable magazine capability later, the upgrade path is built into the platform rather than requiring a new chassis purchase.

What’s in the Box

Magpul Hunter 700 stock in black, 0.25" cheek riser (installed), 0.50" LOP spacers (set covering 13"–15"), rubber recoil butt-pad. Sling swivel studs, AICS magazine well, additional cheek risers, extra spacers, OEM butt-pad adapter, and sling mount kits are sold separately.

Barrel Profile Compatibility

The Hunter 700 forend free-floats barrels up to 0.920" in diameter. This covers the factory Remington 700 barrel profile and most lightweight to medium aftermarket hunting and precision profiles. Heavy varmint, bull, and large-diameter tactical profiles that exceed 0.920" will contact the forend and are not free-floating in this stock. Measure your barrel diameter before purchasing if running a non-standard heavy profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Hunter 700 fit a left-hand Remington 700?

No — the MAG483BLK is designed for right-hand Remington 700 short action rifles only. The bolt cut and ejection port geometry in the stock accommodates right-hand actions. If you are running a left-hand Remington 700 action and need a chassis-style stock, the Magpul Pro 700 series (MAG997 fixed or MAG802 folding) is ambidextrous and can be configured for left-hand actions via a bolt retainer plate swap.

Can I add a detachable magazine to the Hunter 700?

Yes — the Hunter 700 is designed to accept the Magpul Bolt Action Magazine Well 700, sold separately. This upgrade installs into the stock and enables use of AICS-pattern short action magazines including the Magpul PMAG 5 7.62 AC and PMAG 10 7.62 AC. The stock ships using the factory Remington 700 internal magazine by default. The magazine well upgrade is described as easy to install and is a popular field upgrade for this stock.

Will my aftermarket barrel fit?

The Hunter 700 forend free-floats barrels up to 0.920" in diameter. Most factory Remington barrels and lightweight to medium aftermarket precision hunting barrels fit within this clearance. Heavy varmint, bull barrel, and large-diameter tactical contours that exceed 0.920" will contact the forend and will not be free-floated. Measure your barrel diameter at the point where it enters the forend before purchasing to confirm clearance if you are running an aftermarket profile.

How do I adjust length of pull?

LOP on the Hunter 700 is adjusted by adding or removing 0.50" spacers between the stock body and the butt-pad. The included spacer set provides the full 13.0" to 15.0" range. To shorten LOP, remove spacers. To lengthen LOP, add spacers. The spacers stack and are secured when the butt-pad is attached. Additional spacers are available separately from Magpul if a non-standard length is needed beyond the included set’s range or if a replacement spacer is needed.

How do cheek riser adjustments work?

The Hunter 700 ships with a 0.25" cheek riser installed. To change comb height, the installed riser is swapped for a different size. Optional risers in 0.00" (removes added height), 0.50", and 0.75" are available separately from Magpul. This gives four comb height positions with the riser options. The riser swap is tool-accessible and does not require removing the action from the stock. The 0.25" installed riser suits most standard scope setups; shooters running tall scope objectives or very high mounts may benefit from the 0.50" or 0.75" risers.

How does the Hunter 700 compare to the Pro 700 chassis?

The Hunter 700 and Pro 700 share the V-bedding block concept but differ significantly in execution and price. The Hunter 700 uses a cast A380 aluminum bedding block in a traditional polymer hunting stock body at $256. The Pro 700 uses a machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum chassis body at $855–$950. The Pro 700 adds full chassis adjustability (continuous LOP and comb knobs, butt pad height and cant), ambidextrous configuration, integrated AICS magazine well, 21 M-LOK slots, and integrated QD mounts. The Hunter 700 delivers the core bedding and free-float benefits for hunters who want a meaningful accuracy upgrade from the factory stock without the cost or feature set of a full chassis. For field hunting on a budget, the Hunter 700 is the right choice. For precision competition, multi-distance target shooting, or shooters who need full adjustability and left-hand compatibility, the Pro 700 is the appropriate platform.
