Trusted Distribution Partner items typically ship within 1–3 business days from our partner's warehouse, separate from any Faxon-fulfilled items in your order. Transit times depend on the carrier and destination.
Will tracking come from Faxon?
Yes — you'll receive a tracking notification from Faxon Firearms when your partner-shipped item leaves the warehouse. If your order also contains Faxon-fulfilled items, you'll receive separate tracking for each shipment.
Can I combine this with other Faxon items in one shipment?
No. Items marked Trusted Distribution Partner ship from a different warehouse than Faxon-fulfilled items and will arrive separately. Each shipment has its own tracking and may arrive on different days.
How do returns work for partner-shipped items?

MAGPUL HUNTER LITE STOCK — REMINGTON 700 SHORT ACTION / BLACK / MAG1422BLK
The Magpul Hunter Lite Stock (MAG1422BLK) is Magpul’s trimmed-down, fully ambidextrous evolution of the Hunter platform for Remington 700 short action rifles. At 2.3 pounds — over 20% lighter than the original Hunter 700 Stock — the Hunter Lite delivers a precision bedding system, integrated AICS-pattern magazine well, and full adjustability in a slimmer, lighter package that carries easier and shoulders faster in the field. It also comes in under the Hunter 700 at $208.95, making it the value and weight leader in the Magpul Remington 700 stock lineup.
The bedding system combines a rigid aluminum V-bedding block with reinforced steel pillars for a custom fit that delivers consistent action support season after season. Unlike the Hunter 700, which requires a separately purchased magazine well upgrade, the Hunter Lite ships with an integrated AICS-compatible magazine well that accepts standard AICS-pattern short action magazines. The stock is ambidextrous by design, with an ambidextrous magazine release and interchangeable inlet insert for left or right-hand Remington 700 actions. LOP adjusts from 13" to 15" with four included spacers, comb height adjusts up to 3/8" with the included riser, five forend M-LOK slots and built-in front and rear sling swivel studs provide field mounting options, and the stock is built to perform in rain, snow, mud, and dust. Made in the USA.
The Hunter Lite’s slimmed-down polymer shell achieves a 2.3-pound stock weight — more than 20% lighter than the original Hunter 700. For hunters who cover significant ground between shots, stock weight compounds with every mile walked. A lighter stock means less fatigue, faster shoulder mounting, and better rifle balance on moving targets. The weight reduction does not come at the expense of bedding rigidity or accuracy: the steel-pillar-reinforced aluminum V-bedding block maintains the precision contact with the action that the Hunter platform is built around.
The Hunter Lite’s bedding system advances beyond the original Hunter 700 by adding reinforced steel pillars alongside the aluminum V-bedding block. Pillar bedding prevents the action screws from compressing the stock material over time — a common failure mode in all-polymer and glass-bedded stocks that gradually loosens action fit and shifts zero. The combination of a rigid aluminum V-block for consistent geometry and steel pillars for long-term dimensional stability provides a bedding foundation that maintains its fit across seasons and environmental conditions.
Where the Hunter 700 ships with a factory-style internal magazine and requires a separately purchased magazine well upgrade for AICS capability, the Hunter Lite ships with the AICS-pattern magazine well integrated into the stock body. This accepts standard AICS short action magazines from the factory — no additional purchase required for detachable magazine capability. The ambidextrous magazine release works for both right and left-hand shooters without modification.
The Hunter Lite is designed for both left and right-hand Remington 700 short action rifles from the factory. The inlet insert — the component that shapes the receiver pocket and bolt handle clearance — is interchangeable between left and right-hand configurations. The magazine release is ambidextrous on both sides. This is a significant feature upgrade over the original Hunter 700, which was right-hand only, and brings ambidextrous capability to the most accessible price point in the Magpul Remington 700 lineup.

The Hunter Lite is compatible with Remington 700 short action barreled actions running barrel profiles up to Medium Palma. Medium Palma is a standard contour designation covering a range of lightweight-to-medium precision barrel profiles commonly used in precision hunting and target rifles. Verify your barrel contour falls at or below Medium Palma profile before purchasing, particularly if running a heavy varmint or large-diameter tactical contour.
Magpul Hunter Lite stock in black, four LOP spacers (covering 13"–15"), cheek riser (up to 3/8"), front and rear sling swivel studs. AICS-pattern magazine well is integrated into the stock body — no additional purchase required for detachable magazine use.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Hunter Lite compare to the Hunter 700?
The Hunter Lite improves on the Hunter 700 in several meaningful ways while costing $47.50 less. The Lite is ambidextrous (the Hunter 700 is right-hand only), ships with an integrated AICS magazine well (the Hunter 700 requires a separately purchased upgrade), adds steel pillar reinforcement to the bedding block, weighs 2.3 lbs (over 20% lighter), and includes front and rear sling swivel studs (the Hunter 700 has only dimpled drill points requiring separate stud installation). The Hunter 700 has 8 M-LOK slots versus the Lite’s 5, and the Hunter 700’s optional cheek riser system goes up to 0.75" versus the Lite’s included 3/8" riser. For most hunters, the Lite is the stronger choice on value, weight, and features.
Does the Hunter Lite work with left-hand Remington 700 actions?
Yes — the Hunter Lite is ambidextrous by design. The interchangeable inlet insert accommodates both left and right-hand Remington 700 short action receivers, and the magazine release is ambidextrous on both sides of the stock. This is a significant improvement over the original Hunter 700, which only fits right-hand actions. No additional parts are required to configure for a left-hand action.
Do I need to buy a magazine well separately?
No — the Hunter Lite ships with an integrated AICS-pattern magazine well built into the stock. AICS-pattern short action magazines, including Magpul PMAG 5 and PMAG 10 7.62 AC, can be used from the factory without any additional purchases. This differs from the original Hunter 700, which uses a factory-style internal magazine by default and requires the separately available Magpul Bolt Action Magazine Well 700 for AICS magazine capability.
What is “Medium Palma” barrel profile?
Medium Palma is a standard barrel contour designation describing a profile used in long-range target and precision hunting rifles. It is a moderate taper profile that is lighter than heavy varmint and bull barrel contours but heavier than sporter and lightweight profiles. The Hunter Lite’s forend is designed to free-float barrels up to this size. If you are unsure whether your barrel profile fits within Medium Palma, compare it to published Medium Palma contour specifications or consult your barrel manufacturer. Heavy varmint, bull, and large tactical contours that exceed Medium Palma may contact the forend and should be verified before purchasing.
How do I adjust LOP and comb height?
LOP is adjusted using four included spacers that stack between the stock body and the butt-pad, providing adjustment between 13.0" and 15.0". Adding spacers extends LOP; removing them shortens it. Comb height is adjusted with the included cheek riser, which provides up to 3/8" of additional comb height when installed. Both adjustments are field-accessible and do not require removing the action from the stock.
What sling and tripod mounting options are available?
The Hunter Lite includes front and rear sling swivel studs already installed — no dimpled drill point preparation or separate stud purchase is required as on the original Hunter 700. Five forend M-LOK slots provide additional sling and accessory mounting positions. Tripod mounting compatibility is built into the design; consult Magpul’s accessory lineup and compatible tripod head adapters for specific tripod mounting hardware options.
