The Faxon SLIM .620" 3-Port 5.56 Muzzle Brake was built to solve a real-world problem for legal firearms owners: once you permanently attach (pin & weld) a muzzle device to hit the minimum legal barrel length, you’re often locked into a specific gas block, barrel nut, and handguard setup. The SLIM series changes that.

With its .620" outside diameter, the SLIM is engineered so that gas blocks and barrel nuts can pass over the muzzle device. That means you can permanently attach the brake and still maintain flexibility for future component changes or service—without being boxed into one configuration.

Performance-wise, the three-port design redirects gas to reduce recoil and muzzle rise for faster follow-up shots and improved control. It’s precision-machined from gun barrel quality steel and finished in QPQ (salt bath) nitride for excellent corrosion resistance and durability.

    My new favorite brake

Love everything about the brake, weight ,design and profile. Only thing that would make it better would be pre drilled for a pin.

The answer for your 14.5” build

Posted by Jeff Lindner on Jul 17th 2020

Simple but brilliant concept - works as advertised, allows you to service or change gas blocks, barrels, hand guards etc. once pinned and welded to stay legal on your 14.5” builds - and still very effective at eliminating muzzle rise. I’m very pleased with the outcome and piece of mind on serviceability - highly recommend.

    Faxon Muzzle Break

This is a fine addition to my build. I have a few of these, no complaints. I attached it to a 16" Gunner barrel because it is so lightweight. It looks good and works as it should.

    Slim muzzle brake

Good muzzle brake at a good price point. This is intended for those that have to pin the muzzle brake on the barrel, but I would suggest this muzzle brake for those looking to preserve lightweight builds as well. Heavier muzzle brakes can upset the balance of the barrel especially on follow-up shots. This brake does it's job. With an adjustable block and a gunner barrel I have no significant recoil or muzzle flip.

FAXON .620" SLIM 3 Port Muzzle Brake, Steel, QPQ Nitride

Look nice on the barrel. Sweet for compliance states like Ma. that requires the break to be welded and pinned on any length barrel. Only complaint I have is the flats on it were hard to find a wrench that would fit, and I ended up having to use a adjustable. Would buy again if I have a barrel I might want to switch out handguards or gas blocks on.

    Great Muzzel Brake

Posted by Richard Brown on Apr 3rd 2017

I am pleased as usual with the quality of the product. I initially tried to order on the first run which was advertised as being pre drilled for pinning. I submitted the option to be notified when back in stock. The only disappointment I have in the muzzle brake is that it was not pre drilled. I do now remember seeing a memo that only the first run would be pre drilled, but it would only make sense that a .620 muzzle brake is only going to be sought after by those wanting to permanitly pin and weld a muzzle brake on a 14.5" barrel so they could change the gas block in the future. It would be my recommendation that they all be pre drilled.
