The Faxon Superfinished 5.56 Gunner Lightweight Bolt Carrier Group (Nitride) was engineered to close a performance gap in the lightweight BCG market—delivering reduced mass without compromising strength, durability, or reliability. Designed to live up to the Gunner name, this BCG is purpose-built for fast, smooth, competition-ready AR-15 platforms.
At just 8.5 ounces complete, this lightweight carrier reduces reciprocating mass to improve cycling speed, reduce recoil impulse, and enable faster follow-up shots. Faxon achieves this through careful geometry and an optimized cam path—rather than sacrificing critical material strength.
All components are salt bath nitrided to increase surface hardness, reduce friction, and provide excellent corrosion resistance. The carrier body receives Faxon’s proprietary Superfinish to further reduce fouling and enhance smoothness of operation.
Faxon recommends the use of an adjustable gas block when running the Gunner Lightweight BCG to properly tune gas flow and ensure optimal function.

Building an ultralight just for the S&G of it. FRC for the most part, Hopte to come in at less than 3.5 unloaded. After receiving this bolt, I have to say this may be one of the finest machine jobs ever. Very impressed, especially for the price.

If your looking to build a lightweight AR15 or AR Pistol this is a must. It’s lightweight, looks great and is tough. Performs well. As must have, and if you want a little flash try the Tin or PVD versions.

The machining is flawless, the weight is right on as advertised.. An adjustable gas block let's you slow down bolt speeds, and it'll be a flatter shooter. I have 4 now, and I'll be back for more. Any plans for a lightweight AR10 carrier?

great quality BCG. absolutely use an adjustable gas block with this if you dont want to wear your BCG, Barrel extension, Upper receiver and buffer tube prematurely. so far this one is my fave lightweight BCG
