The Faxon Match Series Heavy Fluted 18" .308 Win AR10 barrel is designed for shooters who want a compact, precision-forward .308 AR10 barrel with confident thermal performance and repeatable consistency. With rifle-length gas in an 18-inch format, it’s a great fit for practical precision builds that value smooth cycling and balanced handling.
Match Series barrels begin with 416-R stainless steel and 5R button rifling. 5R geometry is designed to reduce jacket deformation and support consistent performance while remaining easy to maintain. After rigorous testing, the barrel receives salt bath nitride (QPQ) treatment inside and out to improve wear resistance, corrosion protection, and service life.
The heavy fluted profile increases surface area for heat management while preserving practical rigidity for repeatable precision. A Nickel Teflon coated DPMS/LR-308 compatible extension adds dry lubricity and corrosion resistance at the receiver interface. Finished with a recessed 11-degree target crown and MPI inspection, this barrel is proudly American-made by a family-owned manufacturer in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio.

Faxon 308
This barrel is going in an AR10 build with SLR adj gas block and tube, Live Free Armory AR308 upper lower and HG. A Geissle two stage puts the quality of this rifle on par with any of the high end AR308s

Fluted barrel
This barrel was my first purchase ever from Faxon, to go along with my first ever build on my FIRST ever AR10. The fit and finish are superb. I knew it was going to be heavier than any of my M4s, and I was interested in how all of this was going to fit together. When I took it to the range to break in, dial in the adjustable gas block and zero my scope, I couldn't believe my astonishment at the groupings at just 100m. All sub MOA. ALL... I'd had tight groupings before with my M4 and while in the Army, but this...holy. crap. I had my wife get behind it and familiarize herself with it. Even SHE had the same sub groupings AND her zero is the same as mine! Since then, I've purchased a second barrel for her own .308/battle rifle build. We haven't had the chance to take it out yet to get it dialed in - but I am REALLY looking forward to experiencing the same performance Faxon's barrels have to offer!! The Faxon company has won me for life for all my builds!

Love this barrel
After doing a lot of research, I found this company. This was the first of two barrels that I have purchased from Faxon. After all these years, I finally built my very first AR10. I wanted to build a rifle that was very accurate, and in this platform for quick follow up shots. I am shooting right at one MOA (random ammo) with this barrel and I am extremely happy! I'm currently working up my own load data for this rifle to ring out every bit of accuracy that I can. The fit and finish were fantastic. And while I love a great heavy barrel for precision work, I ordered a match series 16 inch .223 Wylde barrel in the gunner profile for a friend building her first carbine. The accuracy of that barrel is outstanding as well. While I have tried many other barrels for different firearms I have built over the years, I will now stick with Faxon for any future builds.
