The Faxon X-TRA Lite AR15 Receiver Set is the foundation for serious lightweight builds that refuse to sacrifice durability, fit, or reliability. Designed, machined, and trued in-house by Faxon Firearms in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, this stripped receiver set takes our proven forged AR15 architecture and aggressively removes unnecessary mass while tightening tolerances where it matters most.
Weighing just 0.96 lbs (15.36 oz) combined with the ejection port and dust cover installed, the X-TRA Lite Receiver Set is over two ounces lighter than our standard forged set. Strategic skeletonization, aesthetic milling, and Faxon’s signature “X” design language reduce weight without compromising strength in high-stress areas.
The upper receiver features a honed inner bore for smooth bolt carrier operation, a skeletonized Picatinny rail with manually engraved T-marks, a skeletonized shell deflector, and a deleted forward assist for builders prioritizing simplicity and weight reduction. The lower receiver incorporates a skeletonized magwell with Faxon’s heritage X-cut, delivering further mass savings while maintaining reliable magazine insertion.
Each receiver set is trued and inspected by Faxon technicians, ensuring precise upper-to-lower fitment and consistent alignment for accuracy-focused builds. This receiver set is compatible with standard AR15 intermediate cartridges. Large-bore cartridges such as .458 may not function properly in the intermediate-size upper receiver.
