Faxon Duty Series 16", Pencil .308 WIN, Mid-Length, 4150 QPQ Nitride AR-10 Barrel
FaxonFaxon's pencil barrels are renowned for their lightweight performance. Fully stress relieved, we carefully designed the barrel's taper to remove weight while maintaining performance. The result is the lightest barrel in the industry - and one we are fully confident to put our Faxon shield on.
Faxon's .308 barrels feature 1/10 twist rifling for full stabilization across all common .308 loadings. Our barrels are chambered to .308 Winchester SAAMI specification for maximum versatility. Manufactured in-house in Cincinnati, these barrels are fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11 degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy.
Quality is imbued into our barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.

Ultra light.308 build
I used this Faxon light weight .308 pencil barrel for my ultra light weight build. I used the lightest large frame AR parts money can buy and enhanced some for weight savings to get a final weight of 3.98lbs. That’s with a 16” barrel,15” handguard and an actual adjustable butt stock and not that ugly smokes rifle stock or some goofy 10” handguard. Obviously it has an adjustable gas system so the light weight titanium bcg isn’t slamming the buffer tube. It recoils like a .300blk shooting supers. It shoots just under moa groups at 100 yards with federal power shok 150g. I have 5 Faxon barrels and they All perform excellent.

Light, and accurate
Built an AR10 type rifle trying to leep everything very light. It came out so light, I figured it would kick hard. It shoots like a dream. Everyone who shoots it wants me to build them one.

16” 308 Pencil profile
I bought this for a lightweight hunter build. The weight was perfect for the build and the accuracy was excellent. I have three friends who are doing the same build based on mine.

16" 308 Pencil barrel
I used this 28.34 ounce barrel to build the worlds lihjtest AR308 @ 4.46 pounds. The rifle is producing sib MOA groups at 100 yards with 130 SOST Mk 318 ammo as well as 175 SMKs.
