Designed and manufactured 100% in-house at Faxon Firearms in Cincinnati, Ohio, this barrel pairs premium materials with precision manufacturing for reliable accuracy in a compact package.
Built from 416R stainless steel with a stout 1:5 twist for optimal stabilization of heavy .338 ARC bullets, each barrel is stress-relieved, air-gauge tested, MPI inspected and has a stainless-steel PVD finish. The Gunner Profile blends the strength of a Gov’t contour with the weight savings of a Pencil profile—improving balance and reducing fatigue when shouldering compact rifles or pistols.
For best overall reliability we recommend pairing this barrel with our optimized .338 ARC upper — Faxon .338 ARC optimized upper — which minimizes feed ramp work and improves magazine compatibility out of the box.
Some customers may need to adjust their upper receiver feed ramps to ensure reliable feeding, particularly when using Hornady Sub-X ammunition. For best results, Faxon recommends using Duramag magazines designed for 400 Legend. We also recommend pairing this barrel with our .338 ARC optimized upper to minimize fitment work. Always verify compatibility with your upper receiver and consult a qualified gunsmith if needed.
