Match Series- 16" Gunner, 223 Wylde, Mid-Length, 416R, Nitride, 5R, Nickel Teflon Extension
Just what is the Gunner profile?
The Gunner profile is a blend of two of the best performing profiles of all time, Gov't and Pencil.
Proving that every once and awhile, the Government can do something right, the Gunner's profile from the extension to the gas block mimics that well-known taper. From there, innovation takes over and the Gunner moves to a .625" gas block journal and our famed pencil profile out front.
Removing the weight from the front of the barrel ensures maximum versatility and keeps material to the rear to maximize heat resistance and mitigate whip.
Faxon's MATCH SERIES of barrels takes our renowned performance and value up a notch.
Manufactured 100% in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock, the Match Series starts with 416-R in 5R rifling. 5R is a hybrid rifling, with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles that reduces jacket deformation increasing velocity and easy cleaning. We chamber our Match Series in .223 Wylde, a hybrid chamber that the 5R rifling takes full advantage of. Better accuracy through less bullet jump, but fully and individually MPI tested for your safety. After rigorous testing, the barrels are Nitride treated inside and out, locking in the bore, improving barrel life, and keeping the elements at bay.
The extension is coated in Nickel Teflon which maintains incredible dry lubricity, corrosion resistance, and with the coating, tightens up fit between the extension and receiver - again improving upon accuracy. Combined, the Match Series of barrels are ready for when duty calls or the buzzer beeps with unrivaled performance value.

This barrel is just great. It loves cheap, 55-62 gr ammo which should make everyone happy. Shoots Australian Outback 55 gr ballistic tips under 1 Moa regularly. Overall groups have averaged 1.3 with 4 shot groups and 1.5 with 5 shot groups. My specific barrel really likes 62 gr FMJ hornaday black and shoots that 1.5 avg 5 shot groups. 73-77 gr ammo is a totally different story, 2 Moa at best in my barrel including 77 gr norma SMK HPBT. My barrel seems to really like the lightweight, high velocity 223 ammo which is fine with me, though different from 1:8 barrels I've had in the past. Seriously, you should buy this barrel.
I just finished my build, and I only have 105 rounds thru this gun, but so far this barrel is a tack driver.
