As with all Faxon Barrels, the "Faxon Rimfire" line is made in-house at our Cincinnati facility from raw bar stock, and undergo the same rigorous testing and quality control measures that have made our AR and pistol barrels a market favorite.
These barrels are made from 416-R stainless steel, given 6 Groove Rifling at a 1:16 twist, and a Recessed Target Crown. Barrels are Magnetic Particle Inspected, and are finished in either Salt Bath Nitride or PVD.
To give these Faxon Rimfire barrels our unique touch, we have adapted 3 of our most popular barrel profiles from the AR platform to rimfire: Pencil, Straight Fluted, and our patented Flame Fluted profile.

Awsome barrel
I love this barrel and wish it was also made for the 10 22 takedown as well.

More accurate than it needs to be.
I am tickled pink… or maybe chameleon. If you have owned any faxon barrels then you know the machining and quality are second to none, and this barrel was no exception. Installation was EX-PZ since everything was in spec. The matte finish makes it look less like an oil slick (looking at you Sig) and more like a really high end paint job. It doesn’t quite color change until you get it in the sun and then it’s pretty eye popping. Probably the best quality thread protector I have ever gotten with anything. This was for the wife’s steel challenge .22, which requires minute of pie plate accuracy. We noticed it was grouping tight with federal bulk garbage. For funnies I loaded in some SK Match and all 5 were cloverleafed at 25 yards. 1 inch at 50. It is right on par with my Shaw bull barrel for accuracy.
