Faxon's .308 continue our fantastic barrel-making with a bit more punch.
Faxon Firearms barrels are the pinnacle of value. Manufactured 100% in-house from cradle-to-grave, these barrels are fully stress releived, air-gauge tested, and 11 degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy.
Quality is imbuned into our barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.
Faxon manufactures all our barrels in Cincinnati, Ohio under our ISO:9001 and AS:9100 quality certifications.
*Note - Faxon Firearms barrels are chambered to SAAMI specification .308 Winchester at a nominal headspace depth (passing "Go" and failing "No-Go"). This ensures maximum safety and accuracy.
7.62x51 NATO is not the same round as .308 Winchester, though it will fit within chamber. 7.62x51 technically requires deeper headspacing to meet the miltiary specification and is known to function in Faxon .308 WIN barrels under most circumstacnes. However, due to the variation of components in the .308 AR world and variations between loadings, Faxon cannot guarantee or warrant function with 7.62x51, especially with bolts with tight ("match") .308 WIN headspacing.
Beautiful but haven't shot it yet. Unknown on 10th Jan 2017
I initially purchased a Rainier Arms barrel - sent it back because it was junk and the second one still didn't shoot any better than 3" groups at 100 yards. Why didn't I get the Faxon to start with? I dunno! But I have this Faxon 20" heavy fluted barrel in 308 Winchester now and it is AWESOME in EVERY respect!!!! Every detail in the machining fit and finish is as good as one could ask for! I will never buy anything but Faxon from now on! I was hoping I could put a picture here of my target - It's an AR, so you have to work hard for your accuracy, and I found a recipe that works for this barrel. 3/4" group with four shots at 100 yards. VERY HAPPY!!!! It's on an Aero Precision upper/lower and a Syrac adjustable gas block and Diamondhead T-Brake. It now shoots as good as it looks! Alan Brown on 7th Nov 2016
This barrel is perfect. I did the break in procedure one week, than then about a week later I went back to the range. I did a 20 round mag to sight in my scope at 100 yards. Honestly I thought my scope was off or came loose after the first shot because I didnt see the second hole... or the 3rd. I checked the scope mounting and it was secure. Turns out all 3 went through same hole at 100. My goal is to get out to 600+ and I have no doubt this barrel will do so and accurately. I'm using a KAK double ejector BCJ coupled with a JP muzzle break on a custom AR10 build. Buy this barrel. You will not be disappointed in it or the company. This is my 2nd barrel from Faxxon and not the last DSK on 11th Oct 2016
We've been selling many of the Faxon barrels for several months now and have had lots of happy customers with all of them -- 223, 9mm, 300 BLK and of course this heavy fluted 308 barrel. The machining is exceptional. It's obvious that Faxon takes a lot of pride in their barrels.

I did a lot of research before settling on this barrel. Theres not a lot of information out there on faxons barrels but I can say from personal expirience that they are of great quality. When it arrived i was impressed with the looks and quality of the barrel. When my build was finally complete, i zeroed at 100 yards using 168 grain federal gold medal match and achieved sub moa. After zeroing i was able to hit 12x12 steel plate multiple times at 600 yards. Very impressed and definitly will use faxon. On later builds Justin on 11th Apr 2016
