Faxon's .308 continue our fantastic barrel-making with a bit more punch.
Faxon Firearms barrels are the pinnacle of value. Manufactured 100% in-house from cradle-to-grave, these barrels are fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11 degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy.
Quality is imbued into our barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.
Faxon manufactures all our barrels in Cincinnati, Ohio under our ISO:9001 and AS:9100 quality certifications.

*Note - Faxon Firearms barrels are chambered to SAAMI specification .308 Winchester at a nominal headspace depth (passing "Go" and failing "No-Go"). This ensures maximum safety and accuracy.
7.62x51 NATO is not the same round as .308 Winchester, though it will fit within chamber. 7.62x51 technically requires deeper headspacing to meet the military specification and is known to function in Faxon .308 WIN barrels under most circumstances. However, due to the variation of components in the .308 AR world and variations between loadings, Faxon cannot guarantee or warrant function with 7.62x51, especially with bolts with tight ("match") .308 WIN headspacing.

This barrel is excellent on our lightweight .308 hog hunting platform. This Faxon barrel enables us to provide a 9.1 lb .308, which is excellent for hunting larger game.
You dont often find quality at this level at this price point. And when I say price point, I mean across the board. I am addicted to consistency, and the 5 barrels I have and use from Faxon have been exactly what I desire. Consistent performance across different calibers, and lengths. This particular barrel was my first time building a .308, and the first time using the caliber in a semi auto capable firearm. I was quite surprised at how well the gun has shot consistently. I have had no issues, and have experienced superb performance from many different brands and formulations of ammunition, to include Wolf Steel cased ammunition. Reaching out to 400 Yards with little effort on my part, but consistently hitting 800 yards. I currently have 1274 rounds through this barrel and there are no signs of extreme wear, or signs of failure.
I am sold on the quality of their barrels, and look forward to trying more options. Accuracy and consistency at an affordable price. Highly recommend based purely on my personal experience with the brand.
Bought this barrel because it was the least expensive barrel that matched what I was looking for, 16" and Nitrided, to use in a hunting Jack-of-all-trades DPMS pattern LR-308 Rifle. Works great with the Palmetto State Armory receivers and AAC Breakout compensator.
I was shooting sub MOA groups with it on the second range trip. (Flyers happened due to my low skill)
I'll be coming back when I go to build the long range target upper to complement this shorter barrel.
I installed this to a DPMS matching LR 308 upper and lower. The barrel is accurate, 1 1/2" group at 200 yds running 178 gr Hornady HPBT. It's also light and superbly finished. Headspace was perfect to match the DPMS LR 308 bolt and carrier.
