Excellent fit and finish, very happy with this barrel, clean lines great coating perfect fit, thank you
This barrel is awesome!! I ordered the Primary Arms 7.62x39 1-6x24 optic and Areo Precision Scope Mount. I sighted in at 50 yards and was stacking holes on top of holes. Moved back to 100 yards and held a good tight 1-1.5 inch group. With a more solid shooting platform, I'm confident the grouping will be a little tighter. I can't say anymore positive things about this barrel. Awesome product.
I recently reviewed this barrel which was labeled with the wrong twist rate. I have since assembled the upper. I functioned tested the weapon by hand and worked great. I went to the range and guess what? This barrel worked flawkess!!! Functions and works great. No problems at all whether it be slow select shooting or rapped Fire shooting. Can't be anymore satisfied. Will update with accuracy when optic arrives. Big thumps up so far. Idk what others talk about drilling the gas port bigger. No need with this barrel.
I ordered this barrel and when it arrived I opened the packaging and the barrel looks very well made. The only complaint I have which is really not that of a deal big, is that the barrel was laser engraved with 1/10 T. The Faxon website advertises the barrel as 1/8 T. I contacted customer service with my concern of the laser engraved marks and they advised their laser iingraving machine was coded with the wrong twist rate and they advised the barrel is 1/8 T and not 1/10 T. I have not assembled this barrel as I am waiting for other parts to arrive. But from the looks of the barrel compared to others, it's gonna work well.
This is my second barrel from Faxon. The finish is excellent, the quality is what you would expect in a more expensive barrel. I'm not sure how they can sell these at this price but I'm not going to complain about it! The nitride finish is durable and easy to clean. I don't see any reason to pay more for another brand of barrel. Get a Faxon and enjoy!
These barrels are top notch. They are very modern looking great finishes and even being a SOTCOM light weight. Will buy again. Almost forgot Faxon keep your prices the same cause that's what makes you different as a high quality barrel maker.
Awesome barrel , very accurate! This is obviously a well made piece, 4150 steel, nicely crowned & looks good as well. It fit nice & snug into my Yhm upper with no slop, and the head spacing was right on with my Red x arms bolt. The only complaint I have is the gas port is too small @ .091 for a mid length gas system. When I first test fired the rifle it was short stroking, so I drilled out the gas port to .110 , after that it ran perfect. 200 rounds no malfunctions !!!
This barrel looks very well built, Haven't had a chance to go to the range yet, but I believe it will do fine. once I get the chance to shoot it, I'll be back to give an eval on this product.
I am pleased with this product "So Far"
Running the Faxon 7.62x39 barrel, the average of four, 5-round consecutive groups from 100yds was 2.5" (smallest was 2.125").
For comparison, the previous barrel (brand X) was a similar 16" long but had a 1:10" twist... average of four, 5-round consecutive groups from 100yds was 3.5". Ammo was the same for both - Brown Bear made in Russia.
